Just another air patrol at the border. Fictional aircraft I designed based on cold war era European fighters. Going for a more traditional-looking approach this time. My attempt to stay away from some of the common military aviation/sci-fi art trope like... Tomcat/Flanker-lookalike, explosions, gritty mood, dark blue/orange color set-up, lens flare, jolly roger reaper skull emblem, chromatic abberration. What's the fun if I always stick with the tried and true approach? :p At some point I swear I am becoming some sort of fighter jet hipster. "YOUR GENERATION 4/5 AIRCRAFTS ARE TOO MAINSTREAM FOR ME D:"

Practice to paint portrait/forming a face out of imagination.... So I decided to draw my favorite cannon fodder, the Ustio Air Force pilot.

Out of all the pilots in the history of aerial warfare, they probably had the shortest life expectancy due to flying in dangerous situations such as: raiding oversized laser installation, serving as decoys in Death Star styled trench run and surviving 7 simultaneous nuclear blasts...

Zulu Alert: The sheep farmer looked at the fighters that scrambled out for a routine Zulu alert combat air patrol that soon turned out to be anything but routine.
