   Her words seemed to swim around his mind. Around the room. Like a soothing fragrance that surrounded him, intoxicated him. Made him feel… good. Dark eyes locked to her own, unaware of the intertwining of their hands. He felt himself draw near to her, unable to fight the feeling any longer. The repercussions were no longer a factor. He simply wanted her. In her entirety.

    The methodical and reasonable man was now acting –for the first time in a long time– on the purity of the moment. Without noticing, his eyes shifted their attention from her own and her lips. MY LOVE:

           The concern for his body not healing as it should faded as he felt his wife’s lips against his; she was soft and warm, a gentle breeze in the middle of a battle. He had forgotten how much he missed this feeling. Every night while he was out he thought of her, he thought of the way her hands had once trailed his body and found his hair in the dead of night; he thought of how her body was small and tiny, little enough for him to wrap around and protect against the harsh winds of the night. He had thought that he would never see her again, and he was so thankful to have her back with him.

          “I love you dearly…” He breathed, his voice tired and weak.

The King removed the rest of his clothes and slid himself down into the bath, a low hiss escaping his lips as the water lapped against the worst of his wounds. The water was hot and it burned his skin, but relaxed his muscles. After several moments, he was thankful for the feeling.

“Join me,” he said, reaching up for her. He was obviously tired, the steam of the water lulling him closer to sleep as his eyes became heavy and lidded, but he still reach for his wife.

    He paused at first, frowning. She should be resting– he should be resting. The moon was high and his body ached for the familiar comfort of his plush bed. It had been much too long since his body was allowed to relax without fear of being attacked during the night.           She hadn’t been sleeping, no, but he needn’t know           that. Her husband always felt bad leaving, and she           didn’t wish to add to his pain. The various uprisings           had sparked something, even in Brightwall, and as           acting ruler in Will’s absence she... things hadn’t           been easy. Thank Avo for Jasper and the others           who had helped her. The old man hadn’t always           been her friend, but she was grateful now. Her time           in charge of Albion had been taking its toll, that           was clear in the circles under her eyes and the ink           stains on her fingertips. Even at this hour she still           wore her makeup, too weary to wash it off.

          But now Will was home, and safe, and bleeding.           She took his hand - rougher than she remembered,           more calloused - and pulled him to his feet. Grace           pulled his arm over her shoulder in an effort to help           support him. She could feel the difference in his arm           too, leaner but stronger. She knew she must have felt           different too, softer and smaller with lack of proper           training or fighting. A small, foolish part of her had           often wished she was in Will’s place during his leave.

short hiatus !!
