well well well it’s been a hot minute since i last fully colored something. have a jules, one of my first imaginary sons!

probably not getting around to finishing this as it’s no longer needed for a project i’m involved in, but i was pretty proud of it :V one of my first serious attempts at doing an environment with characters instead of the other way around.

so i’ve suddenly had a burst of energy which is nice 8D

couple thoughts

1) i’ve been on twitter more, and while i appreciate the character limit forcing conciseness, i also don’t appreciate it? i like being able to write longform on tumblr. :’3c

2) my recent art w/ shu bi is a departure from how i usually draw things, but i realized it’s also a return to an older style that i had back in college. except, now incorporated with things i’ve learned over the years. i think past me would be happy with my progress.

it’s easy to get caught up in ‘my art needs to be better and better and better’ which becomes stressful. stopping to look back every now and again keeps things in perspective, and it’s probably healthier too.

YO CHECK OUT MY BOYE

it’s my D&D OC Jaidev in full body! i haven’t been posting lately and getting wrapped up in -waves hands- THIS was the reason why. i challenged myself to make a modular piece that I could turn on and off layers to put on different pieces of his outfit, showing off the details on each part.

on one hand, i might regret it. it took a lot of time researching, making decisions, and actually creating the lineart and coloring it, and i wanted to give up. on the other hand, i learned a lot from this and i’m proud of myself for not giving up and getting this end result.
