Something that will forever be heartbreaking about Castiel to me is how hard he tries to redeem himself in the eyes of the angels. All the times that he goes back to Heaven to fix some problem, all the times that he tries to be their leader, all the times that he drops everything to try to help them because he feels like he owes them something only for them to torture him or hurt the people he cares about or just not care about the world the way that he does.

But every time he leaves to help the angels, he is leaving behind the Winchesters, his real family, the people who actually love and care about him and have been with him no matter what he has done or what his power level is. And it's no wonder that in later seasons, he feels like he is expendable or unloved because the angels have made him feel that way and he keeps running away from the people who could remind him of just how important he is.

I just wish Castiel had more moments like in "Scarecrow" when Sam realizes that he would much rather be with his brother that loves and cares for him than search for the dad who disowned him.

That's probably one reason why I love Season 5 Castiel so much because he isn't trying to go back to the angels. Instead, he is fully committed to the Winchesters even if he doesn't know what he's doing all the time.

I just want Castiel to know how much he is loved.

It doesn’t have to be perfect, you don’t have to show it to anyone afterwards, and it doesn’t have to be relevant to anyone but yourself! Allow yourself to create things you enjoy, to draw and to paint badly, because it’s a 1000x better than to not make anything at all because you’re afraid of failing. Don’t let the fear of your creation being ‘bad’ stop you from starting!

Making and holding something imperfect feels infinitely more rewarding than obsessing over not having anything to hold.
