I’m going to rant about how bad zeref is at killing him self, so, tw for that

Zeref had such convoluted plans for killing himself. There’s gotta be something better than “create living weapons who can wreak havoc so they kill me”. He said “even if my head is cut off I can’t die” have you tried it? If Natsu’s dragon magic might have killed him maybe he should have tried throwing himself in a volcano. Or piss off acnologia. He actually considered doing that one but said “nah” which makes me suspect he was being a fake ass bitch about his dedication to offing himself. Maybe he should try pissing off a DIFFERENT god and seeing if any of them end up killing him. If nothing else it would be interesting to see what happens if someone stacks god curses like debuffs in a video game. He could even write papers about it!

He was so bad at suicide that he ended up killing a bunch of other people with his plans and didn’t even die himself. He even made new guys! That’s a negative success rate! Gods, he’s so bad a killing himself and his plans are honestly terrible. I’m not saying my ideas would succeed, just that he’s not really being creative about it and it feels like he’s not even trying. :/ he’s like “I brought my brother back to life like I wanted to, but now he’s involved in this shit and also I’m killing a bunch of other people and still failing suicide”. I don’t think he even cared that much about reviving his brother for the sake of his brother, or because he missed him. I think he just wanted to see if he could play god. I’m only half way through ep 295, so maybe he’ll change my mind. Idk.

If a dragon’s magic could have killed him I feel like his failure is a skill issue at this point. Was he even trying? And he’s all like “apathy will save people” but being apathetic doesn’t automatically mean you feel like killing everyone. I think that’s a you thing actually.

I think I would’ve tried using various weapons of mass destruction on myself for the hell of it at that point, but I wouldn’t have made the things or bothered to get the public involved. The magic council came up with some crazy shit and I think I’d go around trying it myself. That just seems more likely to succeed than making demons if I’m being honest. I’d be like “hey, fire that thing you used on the tower of heaven at me, and try doing it point blank”. At a certain point it’s just commitment to the bit if nothing else and he’s just not that committed :/

I don’t think he even tried to use every option before he decided to make demons and a whole country for funsies. I’m sure there’s been a lot of crazy stuff in 400 years he could have tried and he wasn’t really doing that, but I guess I might just be built a little different and my weird plans would not have been the same. I also don’t think I could ever stop caring about cats so apathy wouldn’t work and I’d just get increasingly creative with my attempts at ending it all for myself. I’m not saying i wouldn’t go insane, just that I don’t think he’s really all that good at suicide and is a little too quick to decide he should make wars happen for fun. He could be writing research papers on the degrees of success every failed method had instead of some of ts he did! I think that last one might just be a me thing though
