Anywayyy, I was rereading some of your old asks about Infume being stubborn and like-
In your expert opinion, what do you think it would take for Infume to go straight villain? Or rogue? He has strong morals but what would be enough to outweigh them?
Hax dying? And Infume being the one to kill him, finding out his identity like that one anon ask. I don’t see Infume switching over just like that though, Hax was a murderer and a villain so he might feel conflicted. Maybe Infume would just retire like a Victorian Widow retiring from court and mourning her husband for the rest of her life.
What if HBG/hero org tries to get Infume to speak on Hax afterwards? Like saying he was always evil, he deserved it etc. Denying they loved each other. Or trying to get the identities of other villains. Infume didn’t know who Mores was (but he has a guess)
If the villains, Mores or completely unaffiliated, understand his grief better than the heroes, would that make him switch? To not be alone. What would be enough to break Infume down and make him want to burn down HBG? What would make him kill civilians, terrorize the city?
The recent hero!Hax AUs going around have made me realize how it was basically universally accepted Hax would 100% be a villain and even if he was a hero, wouldn’t take much to defect. Me thinks we need to put Infume through the ringer a bit more.

💭 the process of making infume a straight-up villain 💭💭💭iiiii . feel like . itd be a lot of manipulation from hax . like a lott of manipulation 💕 im thinking a lot about the gun scene . just hax getting infume to kill innocent people and infume haaates itt . and he feels so sick about it . and he still loves frostbite . and then like . eventually . after they know eachothers identities its like . just . not, /slowly/ ramping it up. because killing people is already a Lot . but . slowly introducing more (like planning routes to rob banks, telling them what heros are going to be patrolling where on what day, talking about killing couri because hes such a shitty manager (infume cant properly form an argument aganst that one . thats a big hit to infumes mental), sitting in the room while rowl tortures someone, giving hax the password to his work phone). and . its just infume justfying it to himself. making excuses . and hax (+ mores) manipulating him .
its hard to like . explain outside a fic format where ur not really there with all of infumes thoughts but like . bro would Not make these decisions normally and with a clear and logical headspace . but its important to realize that, infumes not thinking rationally 😭 in a world where he becomes a villain for-realsies 😭
going to your idea where hax dies, imo in most universes infume wouldnt become a villain 💭 a Lot of minor villains/major villains/vigilantes die , its lwk part of the job . so like . hax dying would suck a looooooooottttt . but i dont think itd be the right kind of push for infume to go full villain :3
in my au it does get bad enough for infume to become a full-on villain, he still hates what hax + mores do but he loves hax more, and cant stand the thought of hax getting hurt . and he wants hax to get better but he knows hax doesnt want to , and that hax staying in ranked would never let him get better . so he convinces hax to move to the middle of nowhere with him !!! and theyyy have a happily ever after <3
