Nightfall has arrived. The halls are shrouded in silence, with only guards patrolling and nightly servants doing their bidding.
Within the Queen's Chambers, an aura faintly glows. A presence speaking of true omnipotence, of true divinity. Something Seralyth hadn't felt in a long time since the First Divine War, when they all fell from Misarte's grace. This one however, didn't exude Misarte's divinity.
Yes, She still recalls. The Toplander deity of the Lightbearers.. (not including the dwarfs) Dura. Specifically, this felt like the aura of one of her champions- a Celestial. Yet this one didn't carry themselves with the same seering radiance like the ones She had brief encounters with. No, this one felt muted. Subtle. As if their being reflected the Divine Light rather than let it shine strongly from within.
"Seralyth, the time window for your subjects to reach out and truly be graced with your attention is soon to close. But even in such a brief period, you already have let so much pour into Sal'thorin. Including sunlight from the Surface. Your High Priestess has been doing an exceptional job thus far handling Toplander matters on your behalf.. for now. One in particular that stands out to me is your soon alliance with the A.S. The Adamant Syndicate."
A low, honeyed and silky-smooth voice echoed throughout Her chambers gently, yet simultaneously whispering in Her head. "For them to have already swayed your's and Velara's opinion so easily just because they showed pure reverence and faith to another Toplander deity that to your knowledge didn't also contribute to the very events that displaced you and your people. I am not here to put a halt to it, but merely advise you to proceed with the same caution and wary as you always have with any other Surface dweller. Maybe even more. What's to say that these specific Toplanders won't bring the same monstrosities that you flee from right to your doorstep? Now that they have found the opening to the burrow you have dug up."
"Though it is only a matter of time before these very same caves you call home become your grave."
Bringing forth word of Sal'thorin's Twillight,
Archon-Magister Celestino
The Queen hears the murmurs, the whispers and the warning. Silent, carefully analyzing each word the archon says. Oh how typical of them to be so ignorant from their blissfull skies... Or so she felt, at least.
Her own words can barely be heard from behind the curtain that hides her form, alone in the middle of her chambers.
One of Dura's pawns... sent to warn me about impending doom as if I need any advice from an arrogant being such as a God. Our fall must have been quite the spectacle for your kind, watching us suffer each step we took, not ever feeling an ounce of mercy.
I am very capable of leading my people to safety. Did so once, I will do it the times necessary to ensure this society I have built does not collapse. If these toplanders turn out to be enemy, I shall deal with them like I have done thorough millenia.
Thinking of me as so naive... Thinking that I have already accepted them, it is most insulting. But alas, just like the Gods you serve, I am sure you have already banished from my presence without a decent parting word... which is in itself a relief, I have more important matters to attend to.
The Essail are in no need of holy advice.
