In the days spent in the Ministry’s custody, there was not a second that miserably passed without thinking about Molly and the children. It was a disastrous affair that Arthur hadn’t been prepared for but should have predicted something of its caliber. When they raided his office and arrested him on sight for suspicious charges, Arthur refrained from saying anything except disputing their words. There was no visible proof he was involved with the Order in a way that the Death Eaters had a dark mark emblem on their left forearm. He clung to that truth, knowing they couldn’t hold him forever and certainly not ship him off to Azkaban without a proper trial. If there was a trial, that was and Arthur tried not to think of that inevitability. When it came to his release, he almost didn’t believe the satisfying truth that he was able to leave the confines of his cell.

Days had passed and weeks, since he had first stepped in there and being allowed out, seemed surreal but he didn’t question any step that led him closer to Molly. He made sure to stop by the Auror Department to go through the release process and finding his wand back in his possession. After that, he didn’t waste time in leaving the Ministry and finding himself in front of the Burrow. They must know he would be home since owls had been sent out as well as a Prophet article. Arthur inhaled deeply and exhaled contently as he pushed the door open to find the Burrow. It didn’t seem as if anything were out of place, the placement the same on the table, the light highlighting each part of the room without a shade any different. Arthur knew the boys must be upstairs and when he saw Molly emerge from the corner of the stairs, he stared at her without blinking.

“Hey,” Arthur breathed out, a smile finding the curve of his lips as it naturally did when he saw Molly. It was the same feeling in his chest when he found himself back home after his run in with the death eaters last year. “They…they released me. It-it’s good to finally see you.” Arthur felt stunned in place but eventually, his legs moved on their own accord and his arms circled around Molly, being careful of her swelling belly that seemed to have grown an inch since he left.

To say that the weeks without Arthur had been easy would not only be inaccurate, but a complete lie. Arthur had disappeared once, she’d been promised it would never happen again. When she’d heard she had nearly lost her mind. Someone had to stay with her for a few days to ensure she didn’t storm the Ministry herself and scream at whoever was in charge. How dare they take a husband from a pregnant wife, with 5 children to care for as well. Arthur being arrested would have been difficult at any time, but with Molly’s hormones all out of whack, she could barely handle it.

She’d been sending owls to the Auror’s department trying to get answers. She’d pestered Moody and he’d been unable to help her. So when she recieved the owl that Arthur had been released. She wasn’t sure she believed it. She’d believe it when she saw her husband standing in front of her. So she’d tried to go about her day, truly believing that it wasn’t true.

Washing the boys clothes seemed to be the thing that got her mind off the whole debacle, Fred had a stain that was proving to be very difficult. Molly tsked, picking the shirt up to take to the kitchen to get a better look. Rounding the corner, there was her husband “Am I dreaming?” she asked, her feet stuck to the floor. But suddenly his arms were around her, she dropped Fred’s wet shirt and clung to Arthur so tight she was sure they’d be stuck together forever. “Merlins Beard you’re home.” She could feel her eyes prickling with tears, and she hit Arthurs arm “Don’t you ever ever do that to me again. You hear me? Ever again. Twice is enough. Don’t you leave me anymore. I can’t stand it.”

Six children. A one year old and pregnant with another. Her last. Molly was used to people remarking on the number of children she had, she knew it was uncommon, but it was her life so she didn’t think too much about it. Though today, when she had all of them with her, she was beginning to wonder how she was even on her feet anymore. She was exhausted. The boys wanted to play Quidditch, but she didn’t want to lug the brooms about, as soon as they decided they didn’t want to hold them anymore. So she brought them to a muggle park and gave them a football. “Alright, Bill, Charlie, don’t let the twins wander off alright? I’ll just be over on the bench with Ronald.” Molly called and then sat down with a huff, rocking Ron back and forth in his pram praying that he’d sleep and she only had to worry about the other five.

The sun was in her eyes though, so she looked in the pram for her glasses, thought they weren’t there, had she put them on the bench? “Sorry-” she said to the person nearby “I think there were a pair of sunglasses sitting here- did you pick them up by accident?”

“You should always celebrate your birthday!” Molly said with surprise that someone would even consider not celebrating it. “Even if you buy yourself a cupcake, a bottle of wine, and have a nice long bubble bath or something. You should always celebrate a birthday”

“Maybe” she said, wiping her mouth with a handkerchief. “I don’t know, I’ve always thought I was having a girl and I’ve been proven wrong. Though wives tales sometimes are rooted in truth.” she nodded. “Oh- would you? Really? If my husband found out I was here by myself he’d probably have a heart attack”

“I do. Somewhat. I read a book, drink some wine, listen to the radio. That’s celebrating, right?” She shrugged. “I’m not really one for big parties. Don’t really see the point in them.” That being said, she wasn’t sure she knew an adequate amount of people to invite to a party, or people who she’d be willing to invite to her tiny little flat in Knockturn Alley.

“Truthfully? I don’t think they hold much weight. Apparently, everyone thought my mother was having a boy, even started thinking of names, then I showed up, decidedly not male. But they have to come from somewhere, right?” She asked. “Of course. I’ve been here a few times myself.” Odette replied, before realising how that might sound. “I get, uh, bad headaches. Migraines. Sometimes you need something a little stronger than the draughts healers give you.”

“That’s good. Celebrating is important.” Molly nodded, and for a breif moment considered bringing Odette a cake on her birthday. It would be a nice thank you for helping her. “That’s understandable. Not everyone is a party person”

“There’s some truth in their origins but I don’t think they’re effective if I’m honest. They seem like wives tales.” Molly nodded in agreement. Her brows raised slightly that Odette had been there before, but realised fairly quickly that she shouldn’t judge anyone going there when she herself was in knockturn alley going to the shop. “The healers arnt taking me seriously. It’s driving me insane”

Odette shrugged. “Thanks, I guess. I don’t tend to celebrate it, usually. It being on a holiday and all. And I don’t have any family here either so I’ll likely just be spending it at work.” Valentines Day at the White Wyvern, what a day to look forward to. But she’d rather be there than at home.

“Maybe you just ran out of luck? I mean, six pregnancies, odds are one of them would be a little rough, right? Or maybe it’s a girl?” She suggested. “If you buy into all those old wives tales.” She looked around. “Do you want me to come in with you? I might be a little bit more familiar with the area as a whole.”

“On Valentine’s Day.” She replied as a way of confirmation. The confusion over her age didn’t bother her. It wasn’t like she wasn’t used to it. She was relatively small, slight, even when she was a child, most people had a tendency to assume she was younger than she actually was. She supposed it probably worked in her advantage. “Why, how old did you think I was?”

“You must be quite desperate.” Odette mentioned. “Sorry. I’ve never had morning sickness, so for all I know, it’s worse than I possibly could imagine.” Almost on cue, Molly turned and was sick on the street. So it was quite dire then. “Right, well, five and a half, that’s just down the road. It’s the small building between the betting shop and the one that sells the shrunken heads.”

“Oh- well happy birthday” Molly nodded, feeling quite annoyed at herself that she felt a tinge of jealousy. But truly how did she look so young, Did Molly look that old? Had six children really taken it’s toll? “I don’t know really, younger. I thought maybe twenty three? I’m not sure”

Molly scoffed slightly and nodded “Desperate is an understatement.” she said “I’ve had it before as well, but never this bad. Six boys and this is the absolute worst I’ve ever had” Molly wiped her brow, where sweat had started to form beads from when her stomach upturned. “Sorry. I really am sorry. Between the shrunken heads, alright.”

“Young?” Odette asked, a little incredulously. “I’m nearly twenty-seven! I’m a proper adult, and I’ve been in far worse places than this. Trust me, I can handle myself.” She paused. “You’re right. I mean, I suppose you’d know more than me about it all, right? It’s just- it’s still risky. It’s risky for everyone, but more so for you, I’d imagine.” Odette looked around. The street was still relatively quiet, but she was willing to bet that Molly didn’t have a solid knowledge of the ins and outs of Knockturn Alley. Odette did. “What address? I’ll help you find it.”

“You’re- You’re nearly twenty seven?” Molly suddenly felt as though having six kids had made her look far older than she was. Fantastic. She looked old. “I know it’s risky. I’m just, out of options.” She let out a sigh, and as if on cue her stomach flipped, and Molly turned around, moved to the side of the street, and emptied her stomach on the pavement. “Bollocks.” she mumbled, wiping her mouth. “Sorry. I’m at my wits end with this queaseyness. Uh- 5 and a half Knockturn Alley”

A corner of his mouth quirked up at her admonishment and he shook his head slightly. “You’ve change your mind a lot then. I’m pretty sure I’ll end up with a gaggle if Alex gets his way.” He didn’t want to mention the fact the last ten years he couldn’t do that. He didn’t want to subject a kid to the possibility of losing their dad. Not a violent way like what would happen to him. He was just lucky Alex hadn’t left when he’d said it.

“I wouldn’t really think of it as changing my mind. I think of it as I met Arthur, and realised I wanted to build a life” she smiled “I want as many mini-Arthur’s as I can. A world full of Arthurs is a better world I think” Molly laughed, their boys definitely took after Arthur, but it fascinated how they all had their own extremely distinct personality. “I think you would be wonderful with a gaggle. A gaggle of moody’s all yelling Constant Villigence” Molly teased/

Why did he always bump into patients? Mirek had no idea. It was a curse. Or just very bad at costumes. Maybe he should shave whenever he went somewhere sketchy, that might do it. While he’d never directly treated Molly Weasley, he had brewed for her and her family a few times since he’d started working at the hospital. She was polite, which was more than he could say about a lot of the patients. (People didn’t usually take potioneers as seriously, which was a stupid choice since a lot of their health depended on people like him.) Mirek wasn’t doing anything too sketchy today. Well, he had just ordered 50 batwings at a very reduced price, but he had no incriminating evidence at the moment since they would take a few weeks to arrive. “Just looking around, Mrs. Weasley. How are you feeling?” Mirek said, walking up to her, fully intending to accompany her to whatever she wanted to do. Even if it weren’t dangerous, a lot of merchants were wary of newcomers, and he had a feeling Molly wouldn’t be here if she didn’t really need something.

Molly shoved the piece of paper with the address she was trying to find back into her pocket. How on earth had she managed to run into a Healer, when trying to seek something that Healers wouldn’t give her. “Oh I’m- Quite rotten actually. I’m not sure I’ve been able to keep a full meal down the pas week and a half” she sighed, rubbing at her forehead. Should she tell Mirek about it? would he go blabbing to her Maternity healer? She was already in trouble with her as it was, she wanted her to take this pregnancy easy, which was hard to do with six little ones and no husband at home during the days.

Odette tended to keep her head down when walking through Knockturn Alley. Yes, she lived there, but it was in a small flat above the White Wyvern, where she worked. The rent was cheap, it wasn’t exactly something she did by choice. The other residents were… less than pleasant, and a lot of the time, she just avoided speaking to them at all costs. It wasn’t uncommon for her to see someone she vaguely recognised, but that person usually wasn’t so… nice.

“Me,” She asked, a little incredulously. “What are you doing here? You shouldn’t- you shouldn’t be here. Especially in your, y’know, condition.”

Molly had just hoped she would find where she needed to go, and get out of Knockturn Alley as soon as possible. But she wasn’t sure if she remembered the address correctly. “Yes you. You’re far too young to be hanging around here.” Molly tsked at Odette, “My condi- I’m fine. I’m perfectly capable of making my way around. I can still see my feet” she said with a short but not very convincing laugh. “I’m just looking for an address. I’m picking up a package.”
