[☾] The young champion blinked, confusion flickering across her face at the accent as well as the unfamiliar voice. She knew almost everyone on the various islands. How could she not when she had taken her time on her journey to speak to the locals, ask for help or even get asked for her help to deal with a problem.

Turning to look at who had taken a seat beside her, it was clear they weren’t from around here. Another thing they noticed was their aura, it had a faint familiar sense to her own since travelling through Ultra Space would give you a new sense for these kinds of things. When they finally registered the other girl’s words, she sighed softly; turning to look out over the Meadow once more.

“I guess… I’m just worried about letting down the people, after all I’m their first ever Crowned Champion… and while it’s been well over two years since then, I can’t help but wonder if I’m doing a good job.”

Champion huh? This young girl? Well that’s not unheard of. How old was Red when he won--the youngest Champion to ever be crowned as far as she was aware. But the chances of running into the Champion of Alola... She hard heard a few years back that the Islands were going to undergo the change into a Pokemon League system. Guess that was true. She hasn’t paid much attention to the outside world. She was always too engrossed in watched Leon on TV, but as Champion herself, she wanted to change that--even start opening the borders for new trainers and Pokemon to find a new home. It was a fairly controversial proposal back home.

“You too, huh? Champion is a rough thing and you don't really have a manual to follow. For some, you have to look onto the previous Champion and hope you can meet the same standard they set beforehand. Everyone looks at you and tells you you are doing a great job, keep up the good work, but they are also expecting you to be like that last Champion. Though, I guess you're the first. You get to set the standard. I'm sure to the people here, you're a beacon of hope, of strength.”

Her mind trails off to Leon. He was a beacon of hope for everyone. Whenever he came around, people felt such a huge wave of hope and joy. He was so charismatic, but what made it more important was that he was always being himself instead of the image people saw him as. He was just that cool.

“People look at you and feel protected whenever you are around them. I guess what's the most important thing to remember is that even though you are Champion, you aren't alone. There are people who fought alongside you and will continue to support you even when times are rough. Your Pokemon especially are your swords and shields.” Marnie, Hop, Sonia, and so many others were there to help Gloria out, and she knew it. She wanted to also meet the expectations of everyone else that was looking out to her. Many cheered for her in the stands, but not everyone thought her worthy of the title. It wasn’t until her encounter with Eternatus that left her with such a positive light among the people--but that too had its repercussions.

“You should see my previous Champion. What a tough act to follow. That bloke was something else. You know how difficult it is to go against someone who is known as the Undefeatable Leon. Its bonkers!”

[☾ ] She currently happens to be in Melemele Meadow, sitting on the cliff; her legs dangling over the side. A soft hum leaving her as she let her eyes fall closed. She was taking a bit of a break, which thankfully she could despite the weight on her shoulders. With everything that had happened and the dangers she faced… she could really use a friend.

Being alone, nobody to turn to, really its a feeling she’s never experienced always being surrounded by friends and rivals alike. Wherever she went, whatever challenge she had to overcome; Hop, Marnie, or Leon would be there to help her throughout it. Heck, even when the times got tough, it was Leon who jumped onto the scene, not the Challenger that was Gloria--as much as she wanted to be more apart of something greater. In time this was all thrust upon her at once, but she wasn’t alone. The entire ordeal, she stood besides Hop, her Sword to his Shield.

Ahead of her sat a girl, a little younger than her perhaps? Appearance was hard to estimate given that only the backside of her could be seen and the baggy clothes left little impression of a figure that could help deduce age. Nonetheless, head tilted low and an energy about her, like a negative static that was charging within the air reached Gloria.

Being in Alola wasn’t something she planned, but something that was sprung upon her without her desire. All she could recall was sitting in the Wild Area, a blue tear through the air forming in front of her, sucking her into a realm of pitch black darkness. Her mind faded and she wound up on this island--but that was days ago. She worried about Galar, but the next Gym Challengers wouldn’t be chosen for well over a year. She took this time to broaden her horizons--

Gloria maneuvered herself over to the other, sitting in similar fashion with legs dangling over the cliff side. Taking another look at the other, a trainer they were was certain, but the look of uncertainty and pressure was all over her expression. Something was eating at her... a friend might be needed in a time like this... right Hop?

“Hey, why so down, mate?” she begins, a look of concern, as well as warmth, exuding out from a smile.
