Just as the sun
Just as the sun rises on a grateful morning,
It diminishes on a barren evening.
Just as the river flows into a nourished lake,
It dries in a sorrowful forest.
Just as a child bears its first coo,
It seizes its last breath on unforgotten life.
When the day is complete,
When the earth has been quenched,
When the creatures have said their peace,
A stillness approaches, an eager force awaits.
Just as the sun's rays set,
Just as the treacle of water slows,
Just as the newborn sheds it's sounds,
Its moon takes its place,
Its ocean swells,
And it's new world begins.
This poem was written by a dear friend who sadly passed away in 2020. She always spoke of wanting to publish her works one day. Remember it's never too late to reach out, you are important, every life is one worth fighting for.
