This is where my mind is 36h before the finale:

Ok so we have: rain, running, 360 emotions, a lot of crying, cliffhangers (plural), a lot of story lines, sad Amelia, excited Amelia, packing (?) Mer, residency being evaluated, Japril, Towen drugs issue, Link looking at someone in the rain with not dramatic face, etc.

So Amelia is gonna be sad because of talk with Kai. She will be thinking she is ok, but that article being out will remind her she misses them. She will talk with Maggie about it. Maggie will talk to her, and say how happy she was with them first time in ages and this is worth fighting for, but Amelia will be panicking. But what if Maggie will be scared of Amelia getting hurt again? And she will say to not pursue that? What if Mer decides to stay in Seattle, clinic and research won’t move to Seattle and we will be done with Minnesota? No ok. Let’s think here.

Kai said all those things cause they don’t want Amelia getting hurt like they were when someone was leading them on. They fear Amelia has all those high expectations of the, being parent for Scout/wanting more kids and they just want her to make the decision of ending this or pursuing this now, not when damage will be even higher (surprise Kai, she is already in love with you so it’s hard already). But Amelia isn’t thinking straight about it, she probably thinks this is them panicking and not loving her etc. and that’s kinda PTSD from her previous relationships that were in deed toxic. So someone (Maggie, Mer, Link?) will have to tell her that so she realizes what’s the situation.

But what if Grey’s writers will do what they do best and make no sense here? And they really wanted Kai to be just another (this time non binary) jerk/fuckboy? It would make no sense to show their relationship, build it for half a season, make it work outside of the screen and then do the fuckboy scenario but THIS IS GREY’S so freaking everything is possible…

I don’t think blood shortage is anything to do with Kai or Amelia, I really don’t think we will get physically hurt Amelia or Kai here. But if this is right after 18x18 I do think Kai will be stuck in Seattle cause of that pouring rain, so we will get real life talk. If this is few days/weeks after (I doubt weeks, but 2 days is possible), we will probably get no Kaimelia/facetime/phonecall cause with that weather no one is flying anywhere.

Sarah in her interview said she was wondering how they will all comeback in season 19 so we may be getting Mer (+Amelia?) moving to Minnesota? So she wonders how the rest (Richard, Bailey, Maggie, etc.) will be back but also that can mean they loose the residency program after all and this is what she meant. If they would loose residency, Mer for sure won’t go imo. But also Grey-Sloan without residents? Weird…
