A dog-like cat is a term in popular culture that refers to specific breeds of domestic cats that have unusual behavioral tendencies, specifically those that are reminiscent of young domestic dogs.

As a presentation term, this refers to someone whose neurodivergent traits cause others to write them off as 'odd', or cause them to be ostracized. A Dog-Like Cat sees themselves as fundamentally different from those around them in day to day life to a noticeable extent, and may or may not experience distress when treated differently / as an 'other'.

This term was originally written with neurodivergent people (specifically autistic, as I am autistic) in mind, but may be used by anyone. Please feel free to bend the definition to suit your needs !

I saw some people on tiktok complain about microlabels so I thought I'd share mine :3 (everything is below the cut :p)

Mutogender:

Someone who's gender identity shifts and changes depending on the situation. Anything could change it; a song, the weather, the people around, anything at all. I definitely expirence this but on the surface im very comfortable being perceived as a demigirl :)

Limisexual:

Someone who expirences sexual attraction towards unachievable people, like fictional characters and celebrities, very rarely being sexually attracted to people they actually know.

Limiromantic:

Someone who expirences romantic attraction towards unachievable people like fictional characters and celebrities, very rarely being romantically attracted towards people they know.

Apothisexual:

Someone on the asexual spectrum who is sex-repulsed in such a way that they find sex and sexual themes gross and uncomfortable. Me personally, as long as theres no chance of sex actually happening (irl) im fine, but as soon as theres a real chance of it I become disgusted and grossed out by it. I can handle reading/writing nsfw but sometimes the repulsed feeling is stronger than other times and i just have to drop it entirely.

Apothiromantic:

Someone on the aromantic spectrum who is repulsed by romantic themes and finds them gross and repulsive. This one sorta comes and goes for me, sometimes I'm okay but other times I am physically disgusted by romantic themes, I can become annoyed hearing about irl relationships and serious flirting grosses me out to the point I'd probably stop talking to someone if they spoke to me that way (and meant it obvi).

I dont understand the hate for microlabels, identity labels are created by folks who want a name for what they're feeling and so other people who relate can also use that label which creates a sense of community which is a natural thing for anyone to want. Other times microlabels are for fun, and even if they are theres nothing wrong with that because why shouldn't people have fun with their identity? I love microlabels!! The people that use them are usually so cool and the flags are so pretty!!! I love seeing folks with HUGE collections of microlabels its so fun :3
