Queers Near You

Hi! The point of this blog is to help people find queer-centric and queer-friendly spaces near them! A lot of people overlook just how much of us are out there, and forget that there are communities close to them. So I'm here to help with that!

How Does This Work?

You send an ANONYMOUS ask to this blog with a city name and the state/region/province it resides in. Or any other information that will distinguish it from cities with the same name. I will answer your ask with queer-friendly spaces near the location.

How Will I Know They Are Queer Friendly?

I will do my best research to find evidence that the spaces I supply you with are in fact queer friendly. I cannot go and visit these places to ensure they are safe. It is up for you to decide if you truly feel safe at these places.

Is This Just For Americans?

No!! I implore anyone from anywhere to engage in my services on this blog. I may have more trouble with locations outside of the United States, but I promise I will try my best.

Can I Ask For Things Other Than Queer Spaces?

Tentatively, yes. My main focus will be queer-friendly, queer-owned, and queer focused spaces and organizations. I can also search for mutual aid organizations, sexual health/wellbeing organizations, and similar type things that fall under the community organizing umbrella.

Ashley's Pub, a bar for "gamers of all classes, races, and most alignments" to enjoy a wide selection of brews and board games.

Fluid Vintage, a traveling vintage clothing that makes it's rounds throughout western Washington! "FLUID specializes in quality vintage from the 1960s–early 2000s, offering styles in inclusive sizes with a focus on blending gender expressions."

Conjuring Moments, a doula service who offers "womb-to-tomb support: from menstruation and menopause to abortion care, birth, postpartum, and bereavement." They specialize in BIPOC, queer, trans, and neurodivergent clients.

In/Near Seattle:

Seattle's LGBTQ+ Center, a community focused organization with arts, wellness, and youth programs. Their mission is to "cultivates access and connections to promote self-determination, liberation and joy in our communities."

Pride Foundation, a Seattle-based organization that serves Alaska, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Oregon. They do programs, grants, scholarships, and more to fuel education and promotion of a queer-friendly space.

Seattle Dyke Alliance host the annual Seattle Dyke March! They hold other events throughout the year as well!

Seattle LGBTQ Commission advises the mayor and the city on issues concerning the queer community! Their monthly meetings are open to the public.

QTPOC Seattle Collective, a community group for queer and trans people of color in Seattle!

Three Dollar Bill Cinema, a queer film hub that hosts Seattle's queer film festival and Translation film fest!

Abuja, Nigeria?

Im sorry if you can’t find much

This is a tricky one. As much as I'd love to provide you with queer spaces in Abuja, I don't believe there are any. I don't know enough about queerness in Nigeria, and from what I have researched, I cannot soundly recommend you any queer spaces that may exist.

There are some nightclubs and bars I see in Abuja on google maps that could be maybe a little accepting, but I think it could be very dangerous.

What may interest you is the Resource Centre for Human Rights and Civic Education. They are a non-profit that promote democracy, human rights, and education. I cannot confirm if they are a safe space for queer people, but I hope it is at least intriguing.

Please stay safe, friend, and I hope you can find a space where you can be truly welcomed. If it is accessible for you, it may be worth it to look into asylum countries for queer individuals. If you send another anonymous ask I can look into these for you. :)

Taiwan Base Association, previously known as Rainbow Paradise, is a queer and trans focused community space located in Taichung which provides many resources such as mental and sexual health support.

Castle, a gay night club and bar that features go-go dancers, karaoke, cabaret shows, and more in the Central District of Taichung.

First Floor, another gay bar within the Central District that seems to host a much more casual atmosphere

Somos Familia Valle, a queer organization the in Sun Valley dedicated to supporting racial, gender, and economic justice in families.

C-Frenz, a gay nightclub in Reseda

Northridge Branch Library, a branch of the Los Angeles Public Library, is queer friendly, and offers many hang out events where you're bound to meet queer folks.

California State University's Student Union has a Pride Center that hosts events and weekly meetings, I believe you have to be a student to attend.

Those are places I found that are in or very close to Northridge. Obviously, if you extend the search into the further San Fernando Valley region, you'll find countless queer things such as:
