Got a question for self shippers - I've only faced this dilemma once myself and I am curious about how others handle it.

What do you do (personally) if you end up crushing on a character who's married in canon?

I don't selfship with them. It would feel wrong to break up a canon marriage.

I don't selfship with them but still draw/write about my crush on them/one-sided

Project HARD onto their spouse - get my fix without breaking up the canon couple

Ship with them anyway, in an AU where their canon spouse never existed.
