Been wanting to make a full drawing of sphinx tenna for awhile now and this months vgen challenge kinda presented me with the perfect chance to do so. I even went the extra mile and made him move!

More yapping about the process and such under the cut if anyone's interested:

So going into this, I wasn't initially planning on adding motion. But as I got the sketch down I was like "huh y'know what would be cool" so I pivoted and as I moved onto line and color I split the parts that'd be moving into their own groups. Here's a speedpaint showing that, mild flashing lights warning since I was isolating layers ALOT lol.

Then to make him move I actually used Davinci Resolve. I've been picking it up more lately because adobe is expensive, and I had recently purchased an add-on for it that's like the puppet tool in after effects that I want to use more. This also meant finally learning how to use the fusion engine nodes more which is... scary. But I did it!

I couldn't really record my process here because my computer would've exploded, bro was already chugging when I was trying to preview the animations in engine, but here's a screenshot I sent to my friends while working to scare them lol

But yeah! I rendered the base animation out, added some extra compositing and he was done! I definitely want to play around with this type of animating/editing more in the future now that I have a better idea as to how to set up the node editor.

btw! I actually have yet to properly get onto VGen as an artist and have been looking to get a code for awhile, and figured this was a good opportunity to do so. So any support on this is greatly appreciated :D https://vgen.co/mossgrem
