You help me take off my armor and you clean my wounds. You hold me so I rest and your voice soothes my exhausted mind. You tell me I'm needed, you give me purpose...And you wonder why I go to war for you?

Like a shadow.

I have always lived in the shadows of my loved ones. I stayed in my corner as if I didn't belong. Making myself as small as possible so as not to disturb anyone and be singled out... Not to be judged.

I was looking for security....

I finally found that security and that place which was nowhere else but in your arms.

Greedy.

I want you to wrap me up when I'm cold and hold me when I'm so small. To nurture me, be my backbone when I fall apart. To look me in my eyes and tell me it's all going to be okay when I'm too weak to believe it. To be gentle with my inner child because he has not gotten to be one.

But I also want you to melt into me. To take off that strong independence and be one with me. To show me the weakness no one gets to see, and to let me love it all.

I'm greedy for your carefree smile and effortless beauty. I'm greedy for it all, can you blame me?

It’s really hard to miss someone so deeply while knowing you can’t talk to them — especially when you feel like they don’t miss you at all or care about you.

I win and lose. I succeed and fail. I look around and you're not there. You're not there to share my happiness or sadness. Your eyes aren't there to meet mine and speak a thousand words with a look. Your soul isn't here to accompany mine through all this. It's confusing. It's tiring. Staying strong for so long has worn me out. You're my sun and I'm getting cold.
