Quinn: Of course. :)
What the hell are these Voodoo Doughnuts
Quinn, in Hong Kong it’s quarter past 1 in the afternoon. So I mean it really doesn’t completely matter since in all actuality it’s not late there.
Ben. We don't live in Hong Kong.
What the hell are these Voodoo Doughnuts
and where can I get one…?
You want a doughnut this late?
Where all this fades, you shine in gold our love will be legend | Quinn & Ben
Ben: cocked his head to the side, agreeing with her. "That's my new role, Quinn Myo." Racking his wise eyes over her injuries, he pursed his lips. Already those little wrinkles were forming between his brows with the recent events and he wished more than ever he was in her place. Closing the door firmly behind him, he placed the food and drinks on her rollaway hospital tabletop. "How are?" He asked her then, reading the heart monitor and her face as he sat in the vacant seat beside her bed.
Quinn: wanted to stay mad at him a little longer, but she didn't have the energy too anymore. So she just sighed and shook her head, a smile tugging at her lips tiredly at his words. "I've been better." She answered, eyes moving away from Ben's face. "The moment I get out of here though I'm taking the kids and leaving." Her eyes flicker back to Ben's at this confession. As much as she wished Ben to come with her, she wouldn't force him to. And if he stayed - she'd still go as much as she would hate to leave him behind. To leave him alone in this dead town.

Ben: planned on staying the night as a volunteer assisting those who went without homes or were lightly injured. He planned on it, truly he did, but he stood on the cracked and crumbling in spots sidewalk at the edge of the hospital campus and didn't budge. Texting her that he'd be on his way with a pile of food, Ben hopped in his car, one of the few relics he took from his land, and drove out to the dingy 24 hours Subway. $5 dollar foot longs and five of them later, he headed back to the too late to be bustling hospital and walked the three flights to her room. Again his footsteps paused at her door yet this time he had enough courage to knock softly on her door. Opening it a crack he announced himself, "It's me."
Quinn: was pretty banged up from being in the Diner when the bomb went off at town hall. Despite everything though she was just glad none of her siblings had been there when it went off. Amy had minor scraps and bruises from being in her gallery and Henry had been home with the younger ones. When she got the flowers from Ben (because anyone else who would have gotten her them would have left a damn note with it) she made Henry text his idiot self. She may be drugged up and tired from her surgery, but she knew when to call Ben out on being stupid. So when he finally said he was coming, she smiled at Henry and told him to go home and be careful. Not ten minutes later, Ben came in. She shot him a glare as she slowly sat up. "You are the biggest idiot, Benjamin Harris." She said as strongly as she could in her current state.

Ben: Back to normal I see. I'm on my way, do you need food or anything? Forget it, I'll smuggle in Subway.
Quinn: (now her) Relatively, yes. And you better, I'm starving.
Text: BEN
Ben: What, really?
Quinn: (Still Henry) Yes, really and I quote: "Stop being so damn English and just get in here already."

Quinn: (Henry is texting for her since she doesn't have enough energy to do it herself.) My sister says stop being an idiot and get up here already.
Henry had found him hours earlier, he’d been helping out at the makeshift shelter a block from the hospital. He was surprised to see him and even more surprised when Henry informed him of his sister’s condition. He nodded then, acting almost automatically and excused himself. Henry left soon after breaking the news to him and though the hospital was incredibly close, he felt so far away.
It was pure chaos inside, the hospital was not well equipped to handle such a disaster on its small and normally sleepy town. She was admitted, Henry told him, third floor east wing. Once he avoided the triaged Emergency Room, and shied away from the coffee shop, Ben found his way to her floor. It was far less busy but the constant beeps and haggard looking nurses were stretched thin, swooping from one room to the next. Her room was slightly down the hall from where he was, yet he just couldn’t take another step closer. Not with the way things were left between them.
Bloody hell, get a hold of yourself, mate, he thought to himself mutinously. No, he just couldn’t do it. Didn’t know if he’d upset her just by showing up. And really, isn’t that the worst thing he could do so a victim? It was hard to explain, but sometimes he simply felt better just by being around her. As if she knew him better than he knew himself. And when he couldn’t see her or be near her, it was hell.
Changing his mind, he turned on his heel and went back down two flights to the gift shop. The selection wasn’t that great, most had been purchased already with the only remaining ones being a single rose or some extravagant piece. He was looking for something low key and not in your face. Something that was her.
Settling on the bouquet, Ben walked up to the register manned by an elderly woman with blue-grey tinged hair that could have been a stairwell to heaven. After assuring her that he didn’t need to sign the card, yes the one he was meant to sign in the first place. Ben left Quinn’s room number with the cashier, the same one who promised that deliveries would be made in a few hours, and walked out of the hospital into the brisk night air to the overcrowded shelter and panicked civilians.

Ben: I'm not walking away for me, Quinn, I'm walking away for you and everyone else. Jesus, Quinn, I love you too but it's not safe being here around you and everyone else. /I'm/ not safe to be around.
Quinn: No where is safe Benjamin. /No where./ You're an idiot if you think I'm safer because I'm not around you.
Mass Text: previous Lupus [p]
Ben: I know I won't. Take care, Quinn.
Quinn: How can I when the man I love walks away like this?
Mass Text: previous Lupus [p]
Ben: I can't make any promises, but I will. And I'm sorry for doing this to you, Quinn, I had no choice.
Ben: [unsent] You don't understand.
Quinn: There's always a choice, Benjamin. I hope one day you'll be able to live with yourself because of yours.
Mass Text: previous Lupus [p]
To previous Lupus members [sent]: I apologize for taking so long to reach out to you all. As you are all aware, I am no longer your Alpha. Nor can I join your place among the Wolfus pack. I wish you well in all your endeavors with your new pack. I don't know how long I'll stay in Florence, but I want you all to know that I consider you my family, regardless of where your loyalties now lie. -Ben
Quinn: [unsent] Liar.
Quinn: Please be careful, there's been enough death around here.
It's nights like tonight where I wish Zell's was still around.
Am I that easy to read? Sorry, it’s—yeah, you’re right. Listen, Quinn, I know we don’t really hang out or anything, but…did you want to share a slice or two?
No, but I know William was one of your best friends and I know if I lost my best friend -- I wouldn't be okay. Sure, that'd be nice. I haven't tried this new place out yet so.
It's nights like tonight where I wish Zell's was still around.
We should get a slice of banana cream pie from that other place, and maybe a shake. You doing okay, Quinn?
That...sounds really good right now. I -- uh, not good. And I don't need to ask you that question cause I know you aren't either.
It's nights like tonight where I wish Zell's was still around.
I don’t know about you, but I could go for some comfort food.
Yeah...I couldn't agree more, Xav.
[Knew that she had to protect her family, family was important to her. Even to him, and with him in the position that he was--safety was now a concern. He was once an alpha. And James most likely would want every loose end tied up. Nodding slowly, Ben gently pushed her away from him. Saying distantly:] I think you should leave. I need to figure things out and clean up. You should go, Quinn.
[Felt as though the last stable part of her world shattered and she sucked in a shuddered breath as she felt tears well up in her eyes once more. Numbly she nodded and took a large step away from Ben. So much of her wanted to understand that Ben was hurting too -- that he had been kidnapped for days, but there was a larger part of her that was angry and hurt by his reaction. Without another word to him, Quinn turned around and left.]
[She paused in his doorway though, hand on the door frame, back to him. Turning her head to look over her shoulder she looked at him one more time before saying in a steely, detached voice:] I'm glad you're alive, Ben. [With that said left without looking back.]
