Everyone stop sleeping in scrivner! It's cheap as hell, it has an insanely long free trial and it's perfect for long fics/ multi chapter/ people who like to draft a lot or people who like to research a lot!

It kicks the ass of single-document formats like google docs and word because you can keep everything open in one file, right where you need it all the time AND you can have two+ pages open at once side by side. I keep all my research and micro-glossarys open next to the chapter I'm working on.

It's local and super lightweight, good for battery because it's not trying to update to the internet every .5 seconds.

And it's multi-device so you can have it on your computer and your ipad/phone at the same time.

I'm surprised I was able to get this far into the 2020's without needing to ask for mutual aid but here we are 💔

Local dentist saw a shadow on an x-ray for an unrelated visit and found bacteria eating away at my tooth and skull thats been happening for years. It hasn't been spotted until now because I wasn't showing any of the associated symptoms.

I need multiple surgeries to get the remains of the front tooth broken into pieces and removed, the bacteria scrubbed off, a bone graft applied to my skull, an implant installed and of course a new crown manufactured and screwed in.

They urged me to do it as soon as possible or else it will get worse.

to anyone in the areas impacted by the wildfire smoke, my #1 biggest piece of advice as someone whos been dealing with wildfire smoke in the NW united states for years, is build yourself a Corsi-Rosenthal Cube

they perform as well as expensive HEPA air cleaners, and are comparatively VERY inexpensive. all you need is a box fan, 4 air filters, a piece of cardboard, and some duct tape!!!!

i think it took us maybe a half hour to put ours together, if that, and we replace the filters every 3 months. it's really made a HUGE difference, both when the air quality is bad, but also with our allergies

Also just a handy, DIY air filter in general, if a bit bulky. For a less bulky and cheaper (but also less effective) solution, you can simply tape one filter to the fan, cut a shroud if you'd like.
