Hello everyone! It’s been a while since I posted, but I actually have been drawing some art lately, so I figured I would post this drawing I did of Evermore Klaude :D (One with sparkles and one without cuz I’m indecisive)

So I recently finished re-doing an old portrait of Waltz. I fixed a lot of proportion stuff (especially with the eyes/background) and tried my best to keep the CinPhen style! So, I was to do a project for an art credit this year. I have done many many drawings in the past couple months (I have posted a fair bit of them here) but as it turns out, Anime is not an accepted art style for my curriculum.  I ended up doing this drawing based from my own eye and tried realism for it, but I am still slightly upset that my other art was not accepted, especially so considering I never would have gotten into drawing in the first place if it were just realism, not that there’s anything wrong with it. Still, despite this being an actual human eye, I still only was able to do it with my experience shading from anime and pointers from other people. It generally sucks that something that can be so much genuine effort to create, and can be commissioned for money meaning it’s a job for many people, is still not looked at as enough to be called art in a lot of systems/curriculums.  It isn’t even considered art at all in some cases despite being of such wide appeal and inspiration. God knows I never would have touched a pencil to draw if it were not for anime. This was fun to make, don’t get me wrong I love pencil sketching, but I hope one day that “less conventional” art will still be art by definition. Until then, I guess I’ll just be doing a little of both :D In conclusion: All art should be appreciated as an expression and should be accepted as such, formal class or not. This may seem like an off topic or menial thing to rant about considering what crazy times we live in, but it’s something that’s relevant to a lot of people. If you’re reading this: I appreciate your art. Conventional or not, you put work into it and it means something to you. That is all it takes for it to be worthy art. Don’t let someone convince you different.
