Thank you, Anon! I'll answer for Rumpel/Chevalier because that man is in desperate need of love! AAAAHHHH!

Favorite thing about them: I think Chevalier is the only "flirt" archetype character that I'm really passionate about. It does take a while for that aspect of his character to be addressed in his route but I think it’s well handled and curbed.

Least favorite thing about them: Him calling himself "ancient" at age 24 has aged poorly since now I'm older than him and I think "dang, my self-esteem gets shot in the foot whenever I hear that line now."/lh

Favorite line: This line from early on in Rumpel's route stuck out to me because it is a show of his character (always looking out for others' well-being) but it's just plain good advice.

All you have to do is listen to people, sympathize with them, maybe get to know them, and you can make them happy by doing even small things for them.

We can't all be grand philanthropists or change the world through outstanding charity work, but everyone can still help others in smaller, simpler ways like being a listening ear. It's nice to be able to do big gestures of care but that's not always possible, but aiming for small acts of kindness is still kindness.

brOTP: Chevalier & Annice. I think it's sweet to see Chevaliar take Annice as a student (best seen in the Evermore sequel), it shows how people in-universe see the admirable qualities of Chevalier and he can take charge.

OTP: Chevalier x Klaude. Vitriolic friends to actual friends to lovers anyone? Also, the way the game's themes of honesty vs secrets and selfish vs selfless overlap with these two particularly fascinates me.

nOTP: Chevalier x Annice. They work much better their their canon friends + teacher/student dynamic.

Random headcanon: His dad was a serious flirt and his mom was super into it, kinda explaining how he is so good at flirting and why he doesn't really see the negatives of it.

Unpopular opinion: Why do people dislike him/his route so much? I suppose flirty characters are hard to make appealing to a lot of people. Maybe the harsh turn near the end threw people off? Or maybe it's the admittedly slow first half dealing with Chevalier's flirting and past relationship.

Song I associate with them: Never Getting Rid of Me from the musical Waitress has this fun and infectious energy as well as showing off a guy who persistently pursues the woman who captured his heart so I think it works for Chevalier. Not a perfect fit since the in-song reactions of Dawn (the pursued woman) are more nervous while Lucette is annoyed by Chevalier's dramatics. But hey, it's my own personal association.

Favorite picture of them: The moment when he makes Lucette laugh and the way he looks happy to have been able to do that for her (even if it was at the expense of his pride a little). They're cute together, guys!
