dream is incredibly clever.
yeah, in the 50000 iq manhunt plays type of way and in the sweaty mcc figure out any possible way to exploit the system type of way and the thinks so fast you won’t even blink before he’s done something spectacular type of way. but it’s not just that. his smarts don’t just extend to what he shows us in his streams and videos, it’s behind the scenes as well.
he’s not stupid. once he actually put his mind to having a youtube channel, it was a rare occurrence that his videos didn’t go absolutely viral. he capitalized on his every success, making sure no content he’s put out has gone to waste. he puts insane amounts of effort and care into the quality of everything he gives us, and it shows.
(and yes, the numbers show that it’s more than worth it too.)
it doesn’t even have to be about the numbers, though. it’s about him playing a game that he’s passionate about and bringing his friends with him and boosting their success, whether he just met them a few months ago or has known them for years. he’s doing what he enjoys, and he’s succeeding at a level i don’t think anyone could have anticipated. ever.
he does what he enjoys, and he finds the intersection of what works and what he loves beautifully. it takes time to figure it out, but without fail he does. in the beginning, it was “minecraft, but…” now it’s manhunt, and maybe i’m looking at the world through rose colored glasses when i say i don’t doubt he’ll find something else that can bring him an almost equal amount of success, but i do believe it. maybe it’s through minecraft, maybe it isn’t. if he wanted to continue to pursue music, i fully believe he could. he’s grown with every new song he’s put out, just as he has with every new minecraft video. or maybe he wants to try writing and directing! i vaguely remember him mentioning wanting to do that on one podcast or another, and honestly that would be an amazing fit for him too. anything he wants, anything he sets his mind to for long enough, i have complete faith he’ll be able to achieve.
but really, what he ends up doing doesn’t matter. my point is that his evolution may be slower than other cc’s, but it’s there nevertheless. he’ll find a new niche on his channel when he decides he doesn’t want to do more manhunts, and whatever he comes up with whenever he comes up with it, it will be more than worth it because it always is.
we as a fanbase may find pride in how many views or subscribers dream has, but at the end of the day, we watch him because we love him as a content creator. we love how bright he is and how he’s kind and creative and how he’s going to stay right here for as long as he wants.
