"Where is he?!" Elexa was being followed by a slew of knights as she broke her way through the double doors of Morris' office. "I demand to speak to my brother, right now, where is he?"
Elexa approached Morris' butler.
"Madam...you are causing too much of a stir, why don't you have a seat and we will go get him for you."
Elexa scoffed, "Oh no you don't. You're not about to fool me into thinking that you're going to go get him. Last time, you had me sent away and I will not. I have the born right to know where my brother is and you have the right to tell me...now WHERE is he??!" Elexa stepped so close to the man that he could see every little vein in her eyes. "Tell me."
"Enough." A stern voice echoed throughout the room. Morris stood there and looked on as Elexa embarked on her dramatic plagues. "What are you rising your voice about? Why are you in Devereux's face?"
"I don't think you want the answer to that big brother...I heard the Princess was here. Where is she?"
A sudden change of attitude overcame Morris and instantly he softened.
"So she's here." Elexa stared her brother down through a slight lid gaze. "Wow...just when I thought you changed."
Morris turned to his knights and his servants. "Leave us please, I'm fine....go on."
Everyone started to file out leaving the two siblings standing in the middle of the floor.
"If you think for one second, that you are going to get away with it, you've got another thing coming. I had your back...when your own brother betrayed you by denying you an oath to keep silent. All it takes is one time and he's in."
Morris looked at Elexa and then out to the windows. He walked over. Through its pane you can see the stream and cabin sitting on it...she was still there, waiting for him. He looked out and let out a deep sigh. "You don't understand....I have a deep longing for not just her but her love."
"AND her throne."
Morris cut his head toward her. "You don't know what you're talking about."
"Oh brother, but I do..." Elexa walked up to him. "How dare you? How dare you deny right in front of my face that you have no intention behind messing with this girl. You have gotten into trouble before behind your fooling with underaged girls and the family covered for you, I covered for you! YOU PROMISED MORRIS!"
"This is different Elexa. Back then I was foolish...and I wasn't thinking clearly. Arianna is different."
"I don't believe you..." Tears started to fill Elexa's eyes. "You are lying to my face. You have never lied to me. You know how you are...so you thought of a plan...." Elexa's eyes got big..."Oh wow....I know exactly why you made our brother the heir...it's in plain sight....I finally caught on to you. You are romancing this woman because you know your days are numbered on the throne...so you go after the one person who could make you Prince consort...and when her mother and father pass, you will be the King Consort.....wow...and she has no children does she?" Elexa frowned. "Its all apart of your pla---"
A cold felt slap ran across Elexa's cheek. It stung her soul. The hurt was evident. Morris had never raised a hand to her. Sir. Caden probably would have got a rise out of it.
"What you speak is false...I need you to stay out of my affairs, and when I tell you to leave it alone, you do that, I am STILL your Duke."
"Arianna will be around her more...you will respect her and treat her as such. You understand?"
"Yes." Elexa clutched her necklace tight and slowly walked out of the office.
Morris massaged the bridge of his nose.
"Sir...everything okay?" Devereaux stuck his head in. "Tell the Princess that something has come up and I will talk to her soon.
