Things I know to be true :
1. I am not this body and I am not the thoughts. I have no control over them.
2. There is a consciousness which when I am aware of, everything else feels like drops falling on a vast expanse of satin cloth.
This consciousness is not polluted by anything external. This consciousness is always present.
3. It's when I get embroiled into the external factors like emotions sensations etc that I forget about this consciousness.
4. Meditation - or just going in at any point brings me back to this consciousness. This consciousness is available whether I close my eyes or not.
5. I feel happy and contented when I am in this fabric of consciousness. Everything else feels small.
6. However, it's not easy to stay with this consciousness all the time. What I have noticed though is that the more I read about it, and more importantly, the more I practice, the more I am aware of it.
7. Meditation reduces the thoughts that can come in at any time - and brings more focus to the awareness. But it doesn't show the awareness - the consciousness is always present.
8. When I am with this consciousness, the sense of ego falls away. But as soon as I am with the emotions, desires, thoughts my ego takes over again and I become a character in my own movie.
9. When I see the sensations , desires, feelings etc from a distance, my choice over them increases. In other words, I am more in control when I let go of the ownership of these elements.
10. The world is real, but the conditioning and the resulting viewpoints create a unique viewpoint for all of us. We are bound by our view of the world. This is still sinking in, but it has helped me unlock myself significantly over time.
Things I don't know:
1. Was this consciousness always there?
2. What happenes to this consciousness when I die?
3. Will I ever be with my consciousness forever? Should I ever be - or my goal should be to improve, but still continue to do my work in this world?
4. Are we connected by the same fabric of consciousness?
5. And I don't know what I don't even know.
