Scattered manuals, discarded energy drinks and his phone, open on a โhow to fix my stupid computerโ tab, is tossed carelessly to the side of his desk. He hangs his head low, his bangs covering his creased brow. Of all the times his computer decides to act up, it decides to do so right when he needs to submit several important documents.ย
An obnoxious slurping sound snaps him out of his thoughts. โOld man having tech issues again?โ Great. As if his night couldnโt get any better.ย
He looks up from his computer, eyes narrowing when he sees you. โAre you here to make fun of me or are you actually going to help me with this thing?โย
You grin with the straw of your drink in-between your teeth. โNah, I was thinking of watching you struggle just a bit more,โ you stroll over to his office chair, settling down like you own the thing just to lazily push yourself around in it with the heels of your shoes.ย

You shake your head, eyes slightly wide. โOh uh no, I just saw something funny on my phone...โ Your screen is black. Leon raises his brows, clearly not buying it, but he doesnโt push and turns his attention back to his computer for what feels like the nth time.ย
Itโs about another hour later before he finally slams his fist on his desk in frustration. The action causes you to straighten your back from your slumped over position and to immediately turn off your phone. Leonโs quiet. Far too quiet. โHave you triedโฆ turning it off and onโฆ?โ Why did you say that? That was really stupid. He definitely has done that.
Leon massages the bridge of his nose, grumbling out a โnoโ. He will not lose his temper with you. He will not yell at a rookie. He will keep his cool and humor your suggestion. His finger hovers over the power button for a couple seconds before finally clicking it, the screen immediately going black. A few minutes later, it flickers back to life, the login screen popping back up like nothing had happened.ย

You let out a shriek, immediately falling to your knees, the zombie following close behind. Its body weighs you down, further digging its bite into your shoulder. Its claws scrape and scratch at your arms, but youโre too helpless to do anything against it.ย
A couple shots ring out next to you and the zombie's body goes limp. โHey! Stay with me here,โ someone rushes over to you, shoving it to the side. Their gloved hands gently bring your face up, but you can hardly see anything, your vision far too blurry. โLeonโฆ?โ you manage to croak out, finally being able to put a name to the hazy figure in front of you.ย

You pick them up, sifting through them; From your secret admirer, from your dearest admirer, from your most loyal admirer, from your favorite admirerโand the list went on, the titles becoming more and more obsessive. The light in your bathroom flickers to life, the warm, yellow light slightly easing the stress in your shoulders. The hum of the fan offers some noise to cover the stark silence in the rest of your apartment. You let out a sigh of relief, opening the mirror and focusing on wrapping your finger up. Once satisfied with the job, you move to put the box of bandaids back, only to almost choke on air as your gaze falls onto the imposing figure reflected in the glass. Your eyes are wide, a million thoughts are running through your mind. Run, hide, DO SOMETHING. Your body reacts faster than your brain can, arms reaching for the door handle. But the figure is faster; they easily block the only exit, their own arms reaching out, grabbing onto your shoulders. โLet go of meโโ you desperately try to push their arms off of you, but they wonโt budge.

The first time you had been called in to investigate the crime scene of the skilled assassin, Bullseye, was when the obsession first started. Nothing too extravagant, but when random sticky notes and small flower bouquets started popping up on your office desk, front porch, and other crime scenes, you couldnโt help but begin to worry. He seemed to know your entire schedule by heart, and would even sometimes catch your gaze through a crowd of people, winking at you before disappearing behind someone. To say you were conflicted would be putting it lightly; you couldnโt decide on whether this situation was horrifying, or flattering.ย
After a while, you could tell he was getting impatient with the constant back and forth. He was becoming more bold with his appearances, often snagging a table or two behind you when you visited cafรฉโs, not-so-subtly following you for a few blocks before vanishing into an alley, and sometimes even brushing up against you when surrounded by people. He knew you were aware of his behavior, but the fact that you had yet to stop it motivated him beyond words.ย
It wasnโt until a few nights later when he finally made his big move; buying you drinks at a bar. He had politely sat himself down on the stool next to you, waving down the bartender before ordering a couple shots of some expensive whiskey. When they arrived in front of him, he slid one in front of you, turning slightly to the side so he could rest his head against his hand. He smiled at you and your heart couldnโt help but flutter at the sight. โDex,โ he said, nodding his head towards your drink, hinting at you to try it.ย
Dexโฆ Nice to finally put an actual name to his face. You down the shot in a single gulp, blanching slightly at the taste. Besides that, it goes down smoothly and quickly warms you up. It has a slight tangy, but smoky aftertaste. You lick your lips, humming pleasantly. โGood, I presume?โ God, could his smile get any more charming?ย
You nod, before introducing yourself. Dex says your name a few times, as if tasting it against his lips before smirking. He drums his long fingers against the wood of the bar, before slowly moving them to your thigh. There, he gently begins to brush his thumb against your leg. His hand feels so incredibly warm against your skin, and you feel like your heart is about to burst from your chest. He has the smuggest grin on his face as he waves down the bartender once more before requesting a couple more shots of the whiskey he ordered earlier. โOne more for the road?โ You nod, unable to form a coherent sentence. He has your brain absolutely scrambled with just a simple touch. You attempt to grab the glass, but your hands are simply too shaky to bring it to your mouth without spilling anything.ย
A small, mock pout makes its way onto his face. โWant me to help you?โ Before you can answer, he already has the shot in his hand, the other moving from your thigh to support your neck. โOpen your mouth and tilt your head back,โ he coos, teasing the cool rim of the glass to your lips. You shiver at the sensation before giving in to his request. He tips the liquid into your throat before gently closing your mouth. โDid such a good job,โ he murmurs right next to your ear, his hand moving to tenderly grasp your side. โYou wanna go home, sweet thing?โย
Yes, I do. God, yes. Your words fail you again, and all you can let out is a small, pathetic, whine. He lazily stands up from his chair, his arm still wrapped around you. Before you can follow after him, he easily scoops up your legs with his other arm. You let out a small gasp in surprise, hands going to grip the front of his shirt. โDonโt worry sweet thing, Bullseyeโs gotcha,โ he chuckles, looking down at you.ย
It feels like in the blink of an eye, youโre back on your bed. Of course heโd have a copy of my house keys. You weakly hum to yourself, as you move your gaze upwards to lock eyes with Dex. Heโs holding himself above you, hands on either side of your head, eyes slightly narrowed as if in thought. You begin to lightly trail your hands over his shoulders, across his chest, and further down his stomach before stopping. He keeps his eyes open, letting out a shaky exhale, while observing your every move. You can feel the sheets next to your head bunch up slightly. โYou have a very odd way of displaying your interest in people, Dex.โ Your hands move back up to rest on his shoulders, playing with the short ends of his hair with your fingers.ย
โMight be odd, but at least it worked,โ he responds, a smirk playing on his lips.ย
โIf it hadnโt, would I have had any kind of choice in the matter?โ

Dexโs eyes are wide, closely watching the way your body reacts as one of his hands pushes you closer by the back of your head, the other finding the small of your back. When you donโt resist, his eyes finally flutter closed, his signature sharp smile breaking across his face.ย
The kiss is sloppy, heated, your teeth knock against each other every now and then, lips are nipped at. A copper taste slowly fills your mouth but you donโt pull away, only doing so when you realize that you need air. You break apart, a thin line of saliva connecting you two. Your chests are heaving, faces flushed, eyes blown wide. Blood is smeared over Dexโs mouthโhe looks perfect. His already messy hair was somehow even more messy, blonde strands sticking up at odd angles and his shirt was stretched in certain areas. But what truly catches your attention, is the absolute look of infatuation in his eyes, of feelings unspoken. You lean in for another kiss, stopping just millimeters from his lips, your hands dipping further down his abdomenโ

With an over-exaggerated sigh, you begrudgingly push yourself up from your office chair, shuffling your way over to your room and flopping onto your bed awkwardly. A dip in the mattress to your left alerts you to Dexโs presence. โCome on, back facing me,โ you internally debate on either listening to him or to continue pressing your face against the sheets, โyou can do this for me, canโt you? You giggle, arms pushing yourself up, โfinally not in denial about being old, huh?โ
He rolls his eyes, shaking his head and muttering to himself about letting you get away with too much. You drag yourself into a seated position, legs beneath you. โSweetheart, I need you to turn around for me,โ his hands find your waist, trying to slowly push you around.ย
Your hands gently squeeze his arms in slight defianceโignore the way I canโt even wrap my hands aroundโ your eyes widen when you notice the sudden lack of distance between the two of you. Heat rushes to your face, and you pray that the room is dark enough that he doesnโt notice. Dexโs breathing has stilled, his eyes almost hungrily fixated on your lips.
