building off of this bc its consumed my brain, imagine it has an arrangement of lines in the voice box that are almost like thoughts of hers but they're your typical dolly-lines such as

❝ i - ignoring it ? pretending ? me ? nono , i’m not — that’s not — it’s … ❞ 𓊆 🪡 𓊇 ⸺ voice wobbling at the hem , her fingers twisting fabric alike trying to knot the words unto something safer , her glance flicked to zooble as though searching for permission to speak without upsetting the fragile balance betwixt them , ⸺ 𓊆 🪡 𓊇 ❝ it’s … not perfect ... definitely not ideal , but … we have to make do , ❞ 𓊆 🪡 𓊇 ⸺ the doll paused , biting her lip . letting her fingers drift idly across fibers , as if the motion might steady the swirl of thoughts threatening to tumble from her , ⸺ 𓊆 🪡 𓊇 ❝ and … ah , being all doom - and - gloom … or , y’know , ‘ honest ’ about it … it … it doesn’t really help ... right now ... does it ? ❞

❝ ... i don't hate you, for the record. ❞ jax's eyes were avoidant as the mask slips an inch —— vulnerability leaving a sour aftertaste on his tongue. the jester dons his role once more as he digs an insect from his front pocket, throwing it right onto raghatha's hair. it was certainly a method for breaking the tension they both fostered in that moment. much to her irritation.
❝ you just reeaaally bug me ! get it ? because i threw a bug on your hair. i'm actually quite proud of that one. i got a few more in here if that fella is feelin' a bit lonely ! ❞ he's aware of how she had craved to hear the former sentiment. snatched away as soon as its gifted. jax's comedic cruelty was what kept his sanity in check. though ... how much truth was within his first statement ?
𝐅͓̽𝐎͓̽𝐑͓̽ 𝐀͓̽ 𝐅͓̽𝐋͓̽𝐄͓̽𝐄͓̽𝐓͓̽𝐈͓̽𝐍͓̽𝐆͓̽ , fragile instant , the world seemed to still itself around her — like a breath caught between heartbeats — as the rabbits words unfurled into the hollow spaces she had long resigned to silence . ragatha stared at him as though he had spoken in some forgotten dialect of sincerity , her gaze tracing the minute fractures in his expression , searching for the truth buried beneath the lacquer of jest . it unsettled her , that quiet confession — so slight , so easily dismissed — yet it struck something tender within her , something she had not realized remained unguarded . the notion that he did not hate her bloomed with perilous hope , delicate as spun glass . before the doll could temper it , her lips parted , a hesitant reply trembling on the cusp of existence , ⸺ 𓊆 🪡 𓊇 ❝ you … ❞
the words faltered as they formed , tentative &&. disbelieving , her voice softer than ragatha intended , as if speaking too firmly might scare the sentiment away . hope ( the very word feels foreign upon her tongue ) , unwelcome yet undeniable , stirred within her chest ⸺ delicate &&. dangerous . though verbiage was shattered before it could take form . sudden weight in her hair sent her into a flurry , hands rising in frantic , disordered motion as though ragatha might claw the moment itself away along with the offending creature . disgust and indignation flared , swift &&. bright , chasing away the fragile warmth he had conjured seconds prior . her fingers stilled at last , as she turned on him , eyes alight with a storm he had so expertly summoned — frustration laced with something far less easily named .
❝ ah — ! oh — no , no , NO — get it off — PLEASE get it off — ! ❞ 𓊆 🪡 𓊇 ⸺ her tone caught between exasperation &&. something wounded , her glare searching his face once more , as if demanding he account for the contradiction he embodied — the cruelty , the jest … &&. that singular , treacherous kindness he had no right to offer &&. rescind in the same breath . the earlier moment bleeding back through the cracks of her frustration , ⸺ 𓊆 🪡 𓊇 ❝ YOU - you are unbelievable ! why would you even — UGH — ! ❞
mitted hands traversed sleeves &&. the collar of her dress with compulsive exactitude , brushing &&. patting as though she could excise both the creeping discomfort &&. the affront to her composure itself . each motion was deliberate , almost ceremonial , retracing &&. rechecking as if the diminutive interloper might yet linger unseen , while the residual agitation coiled stubbornly beneath her skin . all the while , she aligned her posture with rigid precision , tugging at seams , adjusting collars , pressing the fabric flat as though she might reclaim some measure of dominion over the unruly moment . between clipped exhalations &&. sharp huffs , ragatha muttered under her breath . a low , venomous current of irritation spilling forth : stupid . stupid , stupid , stupid . this whole thing — him , his ridiculous little stunt , me for falling for it — what was i even thinking ?
yet , despite herself , her eye lifted — there : that glint of his signature smile , sharp &&. knowing , cutting through the tension like a blade of sunlight . it should have been a balm , but instead it fanned the embers of her irritation , sparking a flare of exasperation she could neither extinguish nor entirely suppress . gaze locked unto him , piercing , accusatory , before ragatha finally forced her voice through the residue of her indignation ,
