If you’re like me, the holidays means seeing relatives you don’t really like, or are afraid of. It’s likely that the rest of your relatives don’t know or don’t understand.

I see you. I honor you. Keep yourselves safe today. Sometimes family is more destructive than uplifting.

Tarot Familiars tarot deck by Lisa Parker

This deck all but jumped into my hands today, and I’m so pleased! I love the art in this deck, every card is so gorgeous. They flow like milk through your fingers. And my favorite feature? They’re in English, Spanish, French, German, and Portuguese! The guidebook is rather small and lackluster, but with all those languages, I don’t blame Parker. I adore how quirky this deck is, it’s got a sly humor to it that really speaks to me. 10/10 so far! Also, the little bag is from the shop I buy my herbs in, it’s not included with the deck. 🖤

Healing Spell Jar

For recovering from illness

You will need: Amethyst Fluorite Rose quartz Temperance card **Pink candle Two white candles Taglock

Ingredients: Salt (purification, foundation) Amethyst chips (called the all-healer, known for healing, calms and soothes) **Juniper Berry (healing) Sage (purification, antiseptic) Lavender (purification of body, relaxation) Basil (banish ill health, protection, relieves anxiety) Yarrow (detoxification of the body, amplifies herbs around it) Rosemary (attracts healing energy) Rose petals (enhance self-love) Cinnamon (aides in healing)

**personal association, feel free to substitute your own!

-Layer the herbs and the amethyst chips as you see fit. The order listed in the ingredients is the order I put them in, but do what feels right! Add your taglock here as well. Since this spell is for me, I used a strand of my hair. -Seal your bottle with your colored (in my case, pink) candle wax. -Arrange your candles in a circle, with your colored candle at the apex. Prop up your temperance card nearby. (Not too close, don’t want it to catch fire!) Temperance is traditionally the card of healing. -Arrange your crystals in a circle around your candle circle. -Put your spell jar in the center of the circle. -Light the candles, starting with your colored candle and working clockwise -Focus your intent for the healing of your (or consenting subject’s) improving health. Let the flames from the candle charge your jar. This can take as much time as you feel appropriate. -Extinguish the candles, starting from the last one you lit and working backwards. -Place the jar in the bedroom of the target!
