Every conversation I've ever had with a doctor about chronic pain has gone exactly like this:

DR: How often do you exercise? Me: Daily. I exercise every day. DR: You should start exercising.

This reminds me of the conversation I had with the pain clinic!

Me: My chronic pain and fatigue are getting so bad that they're preventing me from exercising as much as I'd like. What can I do about it?

Dr: You should try exercising.

If it's any consolation they do this to us mental illness folks as well. My psychiatrist keeps telling me to "try going for gentle walks" after I told her I do ultramarathons. I also fired a therapist for, among other things, telling me to do more exercise when I was training for a half-iron triathlon at the time.

I can only conclude they think I'm lying but are too cowardly to say so.

And until they admit that, telling them to fuck off and fuck themselves when they get there apparently makes me the dickhead.
