Everyone watching the Brooks Falls bear cams this year including the experts over at explore.org have been a bit confused and I think even more delighted to see this going on.

Vote 32 Chunk for Fat Bear Week 2025!

This big fella showed up on the cams this year with a broken jaw and a harsh limp. It is heavily speculated that he had gotten into a fight with another boar (male bear) off cam before the season started. It was unsure how this season would look like for the previously dominant male, but through adversity he has shown us a mellower side, even playing in the river with 503 Cubadult on multiple days. He’s been able to put on extraordinary weight despite his jaw and has managed to navigate fishing and eating with relative ease.

Chunk remains one of the largest boars at Brooks River. Vote 32 Chunk, the bear with his second chance at survival! 🫶🏽
