fullstop, canon fnaf is a mess and i write vanny based on my personal canon. I straight up ignore things from the books and anything in the games that I don't like. my vanny is not the security guard, the guard is a separate character entirely who I will refer too as ryan. I don't like the idea of the mimic, there is no the 'mimic is glitchtrap' for my vanny, glitchtrap is william afton.
this blog is immensely anti fanon vanny, I hate the common fan interpretation of vanny as some true crime fangirl willing accomplice obsessed with william, as I feel it completely erases the abuse narrative at play in her character. she is the reluctant follower, after all.
this blog is primarily set post - security breach, as I'm most interested in exploring the after effects of ness' brainwashing and trauma. that doesn't mean I am in any way opposed to writing during security breach, though !
I won't write with william aftons ( unless we're friends ), for my own comfort and for various reasons, but mostly because my own version of william is very, very important to ness's character, and it is immensely difficult to separate them.
I block vanilliams on sight. the ship makes me immensely uncomfortable and I have no interest in engaging with people that support it. the whole premise for the two's relationship is that vanny is being manipulated / brainwashed / blackmailed / threatened / etc into obeying him, and thus it just leans into if not steps right into very uncomfortable areas regarding consent.

post possession. default verse. ness has been freed from william afton's control and tries to return to a normal life, continuing her job at the pizzaplex in an effort to redeem herself and alleviate the guilt she feels for what she tried to do as william's puppet. security breach. minor verse. takes place during the events of security breach while ness is under william's control, having locked down the pizzaplex, hacked the animatronics, and trying to kill anyone trapped in the establishment.
