aurora was born with an innate connection to the arcane, which technically makes her a sorceress and not a witch — however, the term wizard / witch often refers to someone learning magic from scratch, casting spells using verbal incantations and various components — and this is where aurora has indeed started. having received her wand in her young adulthood, aurora wasn't using any spellcasting focuses prior ; magic is as natural for her ( and her species, though not her tribe ) as breathing. sorcerers are often associated with limited abilities and powers while aurora is on her journey to learn as much as possible, drawing from various sources and combining them into her own unique way of shaping the arcane.
aurora's tribe ( and bryni subspecies in general ), due to seclusion & being separated from the main source of their abilities, has limited powers — their magic diluted and rather used unconsciously ( for example, in farming, resulting in a little too - juicy carrots, too - tasty vegetables and plants that grow a tiny bit too fast, a tiny bit too big ). for the first time in hundreds of years though, there was a child born not only with strong magical connection & talent, but also the capability of seeing between realms & directly interacting with their inhabitants. because of the rarity of this occurence, there was no one able to teach aurora how to unlock her full potential ; the bunny - mage had to learn through trial and error and reverse engineer whatever she could naturally do in order to understand her innate power.
from little tricks like lighting a candle or small bonfires to hopping between realities, be it spirit realm and reality or different planes of existence ( in her dnd / bg3 verses ), or even hell ( in her chainsaw man verse ), aurora is more than capable of causing chaos & irreparable damage when pushed too far — usually though, her approach is firstly peaceful and her attitude is directed towards helping and not harming.
it is worth noting that despite being a bookworm and a homebody, aurora is incredibly agile and dexterous, combining her exquisite magical abilities & hare instincts & swiftness into her spellcasting ; forced into fight, she will outmanouver & outsmart her opponents aiming for escape rather than resorting to direct violence.
anyway, though, scorching fireballs and crackling lightning bolts? check. complicated rituals requiring meticulously prepared rings and symbols? check. reading runes & speaking in foreign, almost forgotten tongues? check. aurora is an all - rounded, versatile utility caster with spells and mind ready for everything and anything.
