For the love of the sweet baby Cheeus, please read these articles. Dr. Scott Edwards is an ornithologist who is biking the country, coast to coast. He is a black man in an incredibly underrepresented field. Birds are his life’s work! He has Black Lives Matter signs on his bike! He’s kind and funny! He’s simply amazing. He is my friend’s colleague and she says he is a delight.

I’m not one of those people who says “reblog this or you are a horrible person”. *I’m asking you to reblog*. I’ll never ask again. More people need to know about Dr. Edwards. More black kids need to know about Dr. Edwards. More POC kids need to know about Dr. Edwards. Our kids need hope and to know that a black man in STEM can succeed at a prestigious university.

More white kids need to know about Dr. Edwards so they think twice before making a snap a judgement.
