Have you ever wondered why Kate, writer of Homestuck^2, is a despicable fucking human and should be extracted from the fandom like the rotten, festering tooth she is? 

Yes? Well, good news, everyone!

Here is a series of screenshots from her various accounts showing just how terrible she really is. 

This includes:

Harassing minors online

Trivialising the fact that her actions have caused people to attempt suicide

Claiming that no male characters in Homestuck are victims (completely ignoring Dave, a literal abuse victim, and Tavros, also an abuse victim)

Claiming that Vriska has never done anything wrong despite quite literally being the reason that Tavros is paralysed, Aradia is dead, and Terezi is blind

For some reason, making the Tavris meltdown about Vriska being a transwoman, despite Vriska not being coded trans at that point and the clear intent of it to be Vriska being so disgusted that she’s merged with Tavros that she’d rather die

Calling someone who pointed out the hypocracy of Vriska later prototyping Tavros and GCAT a transphobe

Having actually really terrible takes on what is or isn’t transphobia, and seemingly deciding that transmen/masc-aligned enbies aren’t actually people

Carrying on from this: Deeply transphobic, actually, which is highly ironic.

Claiming that June Egbert can be a “bi lesbian”, thereby showing that she actually cares about representation about as much as she cares about men

Claiming that we, as a fandom, need to grow the fuck up because deserve nothing we do not create, and outright stating that she’s writing HS^2 in the most upsetting way possible as a result of this ideology

Refusing to understand that her childish actions are childish because she’s a grownass woman (apparently, being one of the youngest on the HS^2 team justifies her attacking literal minors)

Somehow not understanding why people were upset with dogdick Jade (being a transwoman, you’d think she’d recognise the inherent transphobia in seeing a cis woman being given a dog penis)

For some reason, claiming that an actual, real life, living transwoman is cis, like some form of conspiracy - again, despite being a transwoman herself

And the list goeth on! I am, to say the least, fucking disgusted and infuriated that these are the sort of people writing Homestuck^2. Bitter, violent, phobic, outright antagonistic people with no care for the origins of the comic and no care for the fandom that helped forge it. 

Homestuck^2 will never improve. Not when we have people like this writing it.

Giving Jade a dog dick is not transphobic, it’s just something you usually leave out for porn, not a story people actually care about.

Jade is canonically a cis woman in Homestuck. It’s only after she fuses with Bec that she’s given a dog dick. It’s a really gross reverse-transition that deeply trivialises the plight of transwomen and makes her a dickgirl, which in its own ways is mired in transphobia. It’s also just deeply gross to begin with, and several trans women I’ve spoken to were made highly uncomfortable by the tones of beastiality it brought into Jade as a character. 

It might not matter to everyone, but enough transwomen I know are disgusted by Jade as a character and the blaise way she’s treated despite her situation being extremely sensitive - especially in consideration of the fact that she’s being pushed by some of the writers as “trans representation”. She’s not. She’s a cis woman with a dog dick. She’s been forced into being trans. Which comes with its own swath of problems, honestly.

And I’m a trans woman too and I’ve seen so much weird furry shit in my lifetime to be absolutely unfazed by this.

There are tons of trans women who are into futanari. There are tons of trans women who discover themselves through futanari. It may disgust you, but the furry community is one of the most accepting of LGBT identities places on the web and how tons of people stared on the road to coming out.

What I do have a problem with is how stupid and unnecessary to the story it is and how through Jade’s radioactive doggy dick they have destroyed the character of Rose.

‘Destruction of a thing through transforming it into something else’ is a major theme with people like this.

They transform things to remove it from what it is, they transform a thing to make it something they want that’s useful to them, and they transform things so other people can’t have them.

This is a comic that is predominantly read by minors. Minors who, frankly, don’t need to be exposed to the concept of futanari as their first introduction of what a trans woman is. There’s plenty of other, better representation of trans women these days that isn’t fucking fetishisation, or just equates the concept of trans women with a nice little kink that cis people go nuts over.

This isn’t a point of “weird furry shit”. This isn’t a point of futanari. I’m not saying anything regarding the furry community specifically, because this isn’t a piece of media created BY the furry community, kept WITHIN the furry community, or created FOR the furry community. I’m well aware that a majority of the furry community is LGBT+. This is nothing to do with the furry community. It’s completely out of context.

You can’t put porn terminology onto something that isn’t porn and isn’t being pushed as pornographic to justify what it is. Especially in a comic that has, once again, always had a large minor fanbase (which, again, comes with its own set of problems). When something is meant to be viewed this widely by this many people, and the thing you push as trans representation is “cis woman gains a dog dick that is widely conncected to a dickgirl fetish in order to fuck her lesbain friend in order to have a child”, there’s a lot to consider that the writers are actually saying about trans women.

Because that. Isn’t good representation. And just because some trans women are okay with the concept of futanari doesn’t mean all of them are. We shouldn’t ignore the discomfort of people on a mainstream piece of media regarding something as sensitive as representation and honestly whatever the fuck you call a cis woman getting a dog dick.

(Which. Again, if we’re looking at this as futanari, most of those instances work like Jade’s does in my experience; cis woman magically gets a dick, has sex with lesbian friends, and goes sex crazy for a while without restraint. Fine in porn! Could not care less in porn! Not so fine in something that has priorly been really fucking good at showing genuine representation of actual LGBT+ experiences and knowingly has a large minor fanbase.)

As for that second point… I’m really not sure which “people” you’re referring to here, unfortunately, so I’m going to attempt responding as best as I understand. Apologies if I misread on this instance!

Destruction of a thing is fine in situations where no prior representation is given and we take their stereotypes, say “fuck that”, and make them genuine, real representation. But Homestuck is FILLED with actual representation. Homestuck has always been very good at giving us genuine representation and real experiences - especially of LGBT+ identities.

We shouldn’t NEED to do that here. That is the point, and the problem. This is what becomes endlessly frustrating. It’s out of place and outdated, and especially when it’s written by people who are part of the LGBT+ community, we should be getting MUCH better representation than this.

(Unless, of course, you mean the writers destroying Jade - in which case, it still doesn’t fly right, because why should Jade be taken from us? Why can’t we have her? It’s this weird nitty gritty “reality” theme they have that still really makes about 0 sense to me because they really could just as easily… not. It doesn’t provide anything to the comic. Jade’s whole situation is a big reason behind why a lot of the people I know STOPPED reading. Which seems counterproductive on something they want you to pay money to get full content for.)
