They only tell you their answers if you're in a position where you can't repeat them when they tell you. They know opening their mouths and actually saying it out loud if you aren't already on board with it eliminates all ambiguity and makes them a trope, not an unknown, so they refuse to speak it and instead try to work at a higher order of society (the institutions and advocates) where quiet conversations and advocacy happens behind closed meeting doors and out of normal peoples control or conversation.
But the fact is, anti-prison people genuinely believe crime only exists because "our society is capitalist, and that's bad society. They steal because society says stealing is good, they steal because our society is unequal." They believe the only reason there are poor, ethnic neighborhoods is because of "oppression" by what they call the capitalist, white supremacist status quo.
And their idea of white supremacism isn't active laws favoring whites, nor even clandestine conspiracy at the industrial level to not hire or keep people that aren't white or christian out of higher positions. They know the statistics of how many people in high value and earning and authority jobs in majority white countries, aren't white.
They measure this white supremacism enthusiasm by how capitalist a country is and by how many positions they have NOT adopted to institutionally imagine racism and sexism as inherent and default, and their solutions or ways to arbitrarily define them, as the norm. Because in their new normal, "we are racist, simple as." No logic, no facts, just ideology that says, "if you're majority white as a society, you're white supremacist. If you're minority white as a society, you're white supremacist. White people are not a real people, and cannot be oppressed, for the entire world is a capitalist white supremacy."
They believe crime will disappear if we abolish having wealth and redistribute it into social programs to give people free housing and healthcare, no matter how expensive or untenable that is. That thievery and murder would just go away if everybody accepted socialism/communism ideologically as part of societal consciousness, that rape "wouldn't happen, if our society taught CONSENT," that if they just made writing noncon fics illegal, "society would stop rubber stamping and approving of such actions."
They believe such actions in fiction, are sanctioning and encouraging illegal actions. That's why this crowd want every story they allow to be published to be like Soviet Realism, where every story is a morality tale dictating to society how to act.
And this, they believe, will eliminate criminality, thievery, greed and sexual crimes. Which they claim will eliminate the needs for prisons, for long term crimes. This is why they try to focus on "rehabilitation." Their idea of trying to rehabilitate a fucker like Diddy is to just tell him, "Nonconsent is baaaaaad!" until it sinks in.
As well as elimination of the death penalty, no matter if you're a serial killer or a serial rapist.
But oh, assassinating people with political views they disagree with is fine, actually.
