Bobby smiled back. âBobby Daken, Head of the Manor. Any problems, you come to me. Till we find a Female Head, then thatâs her headache.â He chuckled. âLiking Scarlet so far?â
It was obvious he did not want to share more, and Rachel was not going to ask him further questions about what seemed as a sensitive subject. "Thank you, Bobby. It's a pleasure to meet you." He was not so bad-looking, fortunately. "Yes. It is such a wonderful place. Perfect for our kind."
Pushing herself up, she stared at the witch, narrowing her gaze. She wasnât interested in her words. âMaybe everyone leaves you. Some of us donât have that problem, typically,â she snapped. âI donât need your pity or your advice, witch. It isnât my problem that nobody finds you worth sticking around. My life is fine, and if my being upset bothers you then go away as I already told you.â
Rachel had to blink a few times, surprised by what the vampire had said. But even surprised was too weak of a word to describe it. "What a nice thing to say." The witch had not expected the girl to be kind, but also not to be that harsh. "Fine. Keep on sulking. Eventually, you will get it." She concluded, shaking her head as she turned around to walk away. Should had never stopped to talk. It was such an annoyance to try to be social and nice with someone whose species was obviously way too different from hers.
"Define close." Bobby looked at her over his glass, before taking a swig. Asking for a refill, he faced her. "Youâre the newbie right? Never gotta umm..you know, ask your name."Â
"Close friendship or perhaps something more than that." There was nothing wrong about intimate relationships, as long as they stayed on the physical part, not the emotional one. Or it would turn into a hassle. "Yes. I guess I am the newbie. The name's Rachel." She introduced herself to him, smiling in his direction.
Her gaze returned to focus on the witch as she spoke. A hiss was nearing her throat, but she held it back. So much temptation to tear her to pieces, though Kaya stayed still, twisting open the flask, sipping from it. She missed him, and it hurt more than sheâd ever like to confess. âYou have your answer, then, so go away,â she almost growled. âI donât give a damn about your curiosity.â
She could see the vampire was getting irritated, but it was pointless. It was pointless to keep such feelings inside of you, to let your emotions rule you. The girl should have figured out that by now. "Sire or not, it was going to happen at some point. Everyone leaves. All the time. Should it be because they have something urgent and important to do...or simply because they thought the time has come. No one actually stays. Ever. Your life will become a lot easier when you realize it."
Kaya was trying not to be too upset, trying to just suck it up. Sheâd never been too good about that.  Sipping the flask, she glanced up at the woman. âI am upset. My sire left⊠without a word.â There was no point to lie, to keep it to herself. People knew Nikolas was gone. âWhat does it matter to you?â she glanced down at the flask, twisting the cap back on it.Â
The witch could not possibly understand the relationship between a progeny and their sire, but she guessed it must be one of importance. Or that vampire wouldn't be sitting there, drowning her feelings in alcohol. "Honestly? It does not matter to me." It was a rather blunt answer, but it was better than to feed her lies while the girl was in such a state. "But I am curious. Can you blame me? Usually the ones who are sad around here are the slaves, not the supernatural beings."
Kaya sat down outside, not wanting to go back to vampire manor at the moment. She didnât really know what she wanted to do. Sitting down, she sniffled quietly as she sipped on the vodka filled flask. Glancing up at the approaching figure, âWhat do you want?âÂ
Everyone seemed to be in such a mood lately. What had happened that Rachel did not get the memo about. "I was taking a walk." She replied, it was not a complete lie. "And then I saw you. You look a bit upset to me." Rachel had not talked to many vampires, and she did not care much, but she just had to hear what this female vampire might have to say. It had been a while since their last and only conversation.
"So, Olympia left.." Bobby spoke to no one in particular as he downed his third whiskey for the night. "Man, she didnât even say goodbye. How fucked up is that, huh?"
Rachel heard someone talking and looked around to see who to. It seemed as if he was talking to himself. It made her curious. Taking the seat next to him, she turned around to ask him her question. "Olympia? Never personally met her. You two were close?"
Despite knowing that this rental wasnât going to be as bad as she had faced with Briac, it didnât stop her from shaking as the guards came to fetch her from her cell. She didnât struggle though, just slowly walked alongside them, her face blank as she tried to keep her emotions in check. Caoimhe wasnât sure what being a guinea pig was going to entail, but she had a feeling that it wasnât going to enjoy it that much. The brunette wished that she was as lucky as Aria with being claimed, but she had a feeling that Liam wouldnât be allowed to claim her after what had happened. She guessed they reached the womanâs room as they stopped at a door, knocking loudly.Â
Hearing the knock on the door, Rachel eagerly headed towards it. Previously she had always had to kidnap humans to use for her experiments with potions, but this time the human was being dragged to her. She liked it that way, so much less effort on her part. After another second, the witch opened the door to see the slave girl and the two guards accompanying her. "It was about time." She sighed and rolled her eyes as her hand reached out to take a hold of the girl's, pulling her inside the suite. "That's all for now." Rachel smiled at the guards, closing the door in front of their faces.
The witch turned to the girl, looking her up and down, "Have you showered? Tell me you have. I don't want you to get anything dirty in my suite."Â
It was Rachel's first time to rent one of the slaves. And she was certainly excited about it. The human girl seemed bearable, judging by their brief interaction. The witch was not worried about her refusing to do what Rachel demanded, it was not within her rights, and by the looks of it, the slave was already aware of that. It was not going to be that horrible. The girl was not going to get used for sex or blood, like some of the other Masters or Mistresses would like to use her for. Instead, she was to try those new potions Rachel would be making. There had to be a guinea pig, to make sure it wouldn't be fatal, and that guinea pig was going to the slave that went by the name Caoimhe. Pretty name. The human was supposed to arrive at the suite any minute.
"The vampire manor and the wizard manor, Miss."
"The wizard manor is the best place to be at."
"For a cutie like you, Iâd totally make a map."
"But, Iâm really naked right now. How about fifteen minutes and we could meet in town? Iâm Nate."Â
"I am sure I would enjoy that map. Would come in handy."
"Sounds great. I'm Rachel. It's certainly a pleasure."

"Caoimhe."
"Pretty name. Thank you. Expect to be rented then. I'll see you again pretty soon, Caoimhe."
"I know. I donât really âave much oâ a say though if I remember the last guy."
"I don't know about the last guy, but when I rent you, you'll see it for yourself. Tell me your name. I suppose I need it."
"Still doesnât make ye trustworthy."
"You don't have to trust me in order for me to rent you."
A soft smile formed on her lips. Emma used the device she had, typing into it, the electronic voice speaking for her, âHi there. Is there anything I can do for you, Miss?â
The witch was a bit surprised. She did not expect that kind of communication, but chose not to address the issue. Instead, she opened her mouth to reply to the girl's question. "I am just looking. Checking out the slaves, see which ones I like."
