Old Animorphs websites made by fans

i went on the wayback machines and found a bunch of old websites made in the late 90s-00s about animorphs. i wasn't alive during those times but it's really cool to see how people used to talk about it on the old internet. and there were already so many fanfics ! here's a few i found in the wayback machine.

Andalite73's Animorphs Universe - okay first of all the web design is amazing. i love it. the website seemed to be run by two teens in 2002. there's a page where they discuss what "evil" stuff they'd do to visser three and it's really funny to read

Animorph World - it was active until the 2010s, and also links to the Anibase, "a program will let you know most of the facts and secrets in the Animorphs book series". I couldn't open it unfortunatly as I don't have Windows or a Mac, but if someone does, I'd be really happy to see what it actually leads to.

Animorphs The Continuing - it seems to be an email RPG, but unfortunatly only the home page is still up, the rest of the website seems to be gone. But ! You'll get more information about WebRings on Animorphs on this page.

Monster's Animorph Site - this one has extensive lists of animorphs merch in all forms. images don't seem to load in first sight but they will if you click on them.

Ani-News - someone on this website made many morphs on the animorphs (rachel to lion, ax to gazelle etc), which is really cool. there's also a lot of fanarts from 1999-2000, which i found really cute !

Animorphs Central Intelligence Agency - there's a lot of things on this website : interactive story (not working anymore), custom greeting cards (not working anymore), a list of animorphs club and their description... you can really feel the passion from the person who made this one. also there are a few that i couldn't download, so if you do, feel free to tell me if they're good

Elfangor's Dome - this one got a lot of cool graphics, from video game visuals to posters, which i never saw before !

Animorphs Fanfic on LiveJournal - it's not exactly an old website but i still like to see how people used to write and ship back in 2000-2010. most of the links seem to work, so if you're curious, go and search for yourself !

i just think. elfangor has to be just a little bit of a bastard. in order to touch down in that construction site and see those kids and think "they will have to fight in my stead; they will have to save earth" you have to be a little fucked. he offered them a choice but was it ever a choice. they were doomed by witnessing elfangor's ship. there is no other way it could have gone. save yourselves and save your planet. look. you are elfangor. you are going to die. there's a chance you won't kill earth with you. you know it won't be enough. you know they are going to fight and bleed and suffer and die. and you know you are going to do it anyway.

In regards to the Chee I've been wondering: are they trying to recreate the Pemalites through canines? They can't clone them due to the the Howlers' genetic virus but since they transferred the Pemalite's essence into wolves and thus created the domesticated dog this 'recreation' could be their long-term project for the dogs .

Okay, first, I love this theory. It's exactly their brand of evil, to Do No Harm... technically, in that no physical injuries are being inflicted on any living beings, but also the whole concept is morally bankrupt as hell. It's creepy, it's arrogant, it's almost certainly against the wishes of everyone involved (dogs, pemalites, humans) but would be so easy to justify as benefiting the chee. I'm here for it.

Second, I like this much better than when I first read this post as "recreate the Pemalites through cannabis." And was like, I get that Mr. King especially has stoner vibes, but how would that even work???

Being an animorphs fan is great because every time I hear the phrase "bear with me" I suddenly imagine Rachel crashing through the nearest wall with a terrible roar as she answers the call for aid in full battle morph.

I think the best part of Tobias/Rachel is that the whole is like a billion times shittier than the sum of its parts.

Tobias is the central tragic figure of the animorphs, even if he doesn't get as many books. He's literally so chosen one coded. He's a suicidal trans bird. He's full of hope for humanity. He is deeply alienated from his own humanity. He survived abuse and neglect. His dad's a fucking alien prince. He saved a different alien species from extinction, and became the namesake of their first free leader in like, three generations. God talks to him personally and doesn't do anything that he wants. He's the most character of all time. He's just like me for real. No one is doing it like him.

And Rachel!!!! Girl has the best character arc of the entire book series (outside the Hork Bajir Chronicles but I digress). She's a princess. She's a monster. She's the pretty one. She beat a man to death with her own severed arm. She sacrificed herself for humanity. She self-destructively followed orders to her own demise. She almost gave up her human life and became a cat forever just to comfort a crying friend. She's Satan's most specialist favorite teenager. And she was a Packard Award winning student to boot!

But together, they form the messiest, most dysfunctional situationship that any middle schooler ever read about. They love each other. They flirt with other people (or birds). Rachel cared about Tobias when everyone else thought he was some weirdo who would never amount to anything. She also wants him to stop living as his authentic self because it's inconvenient to her. Tobias thinks that Rachel is the most beautiful creature ever to grace the earth. He also enables her most self-destructive tendencies and romanticizes her for being the monster she doesn't want to become. He knows that she loves him no matter what. He was mortified that she saw him eating roadkill, and fears her judgement like death itself. She celebrates his birthday with him, even though he forgot when his birthday even was. She also, and I cannot stress this enough, thinks that he should leave the fight that gives him his only living purpose and stop living in the body that he's chosen for himself because she doesn't know how to be a bird's girlfriend (and like, fair. Not a normal situation tbh). They are doomed by the narrative. Together ❤️

Literally nobody is doing it like K A Applegate. Look at these two. What a goddamn mess.
