You are not the bad decisions you did in your past. You are not the same person you were. The good that God started in you, He will also finish. He is constantly changing your heart and He will use you for His glory every time you allow Him to. Praise Him, because He is good even when you aren’t. Sing to Him, because His love for you will never stop. Run to Him, because He is the only one who can save you from yourself.
“So I throw up my hands and praise You again and again ‘cause all that I have is a hallelujah, hallelujah. And I know it's not much but I've nothing else fit for a King except for a heart singing hallelujah, hallelujah.”
— Gratitude, Brandon Lake
It really frustrates me when you have a friend for years and they become toxic to you emotionally, mentally, etc. and others feel you’re “not allowed” to leave that friendship in the past because they’re “nice” or things aren’t easy for them. Like hell no. Why should I be constantly walked over and pushed to the side because I’m too loyal just to be the bigger person? You’re not worth me messing up my mental health over. Best friends can mean well and be nice but end up extremely toxic to you just as easily as anybody else.
Sometimes, God calls us to wait. Sometimes, the wait is long because He is pruning and teaching us to put absolute faith and trust in Him. He is faithful and He will bring those promises to pass.
You don’t need to have your life together to make a difference for someone else. Speak up. Be a friend. Even if you’re still working through junk in your own life.
God loves you right now, just the way you are. His love goes beyond your flaws. He sees the person who are, and He’s determined, if you’ll let Him, to be the one to stand beside you and help you make change for the better. Don’t wait until you’re a better person to reach out to Him. He wants to be in your life right now.
There is hope. God has brought you this far. He wants you to have faith that He’ll bring you all the way.
There’s always going to be excuses. Always going to be convincing reasons not to take the chance. But you are meant to make a difference. Stop living passively and take some smart risks.
God’s way looks like foolishness to the world. Don’t let criticism stop you from obeying the Bible.
With Jesus, you can start over.
With Jesus, you can begin again.
He is a God of new beginnings.
The people that stumble into our lives can so often change them. Permanently. Fiercely. The way they love, the way they demonstrate it, the lengths they go to show it. Lucky, we are lucky, to find such souls. To entangle our lives for a time.
“It’s up to us to break generational curses. When they say, ‘It runs in the family,’ you tell them: 'This is where it runs out.’”
— Unknown
“October, crisp, misty, golden October, when the light is sweet and heavy.”
— Angela Carter, The Magic Toyshop.
“I hope you have the courage to pursue someone who is worth pursuing, and not someone who is convenient. Convenience is impatience disguised as your desires, you are worth more than what time has told you, you are worthy of finding someone who will wait for you; don’t settle for what is easy, settle for what is good”
— T.B. LaBerge
“Thank God that He does not give up on people like we do. There is not a stronghold, not a bondage, not a spirit that you are caught up in that God cannot bring you out”
— Carl Lentz
I’m proud of you for waking up each morning, even when it hurts, even when the weight of this life hits the moment your head leaves the pillow, you rise
