“I’d never lie about how sexy a woman is, especially you.” He wiggled his fingers when she started to play with them, a huge smile on his face as he thought about how lucky he was to have her back. “That’s because I’m a pro. If I wasn’t so dedicated to theater, I’d probably be a professional chef.” He turned his head and kissed the top of hers, humming softly.

Rachel blushed before letting out a sigh as she watched him cook. When he started talking about being a professional chef she laughed. “I don’t know about that,” she laughed as she leaned into his kiss. “Have I said I’m happy that we’re together again?” she asked looking up at him. “I just...I never thought I would be happy again after what happened with Finn..” she glanced away from him biting her lip before turning to look at him again.

He hummed when she kissed him, his fingers playing with the end of her shirt. “You totally are,” he said as he cupped her cheeks, smiling at how red her face was getting. Brody moved out from between her legs so he could stir the pasta, keeping one hand on her knee so he wouldn’t have to break physical contact with her.

Rachel giggled as she shook her head. “Liar,” she said making a face at him. She watched him cook and smiled as she licked her lips a little. She put her hand on top of his and smiled as she played with his fingers. “Smells good.” she said leaning over resting her head on his arm.

Brody searched her cupboards and fridge, picking out random things to make a meal with. “Oh yeah? Are you getting turned on?” When he got everything on the stove, he stood between her legs and put his hands on her hips. “You’re kind of sexy all the time.”

Rachel smiled at him setting her hands on his chest when he stood between her legs. “A little bit,” she smirked before leaning up to kiss him. “No I’m not, but thank you,” she said knowing her face was turning red.

“I’ll see what I can whip up.” He saw her staring as he took his coat and suit jacket off. “I promise I’ll keep my shirt on. It would be a shame if you jumped me before we got to eat.” After he rolled his sleeves up, he went into the kitchen to see what she had available.

“Sounds like a plan,” she smiled as she followed him into the kitchen and sat down on the counter as she watched him move around the kitchen. “You’re kind of sexy working in the kitchen,” she said with a smirk.

He held the treat that Rachel gave him out and smiled when Elphaba started to come out. As he petted her while she ate her treat, he looked up at Rachel and shrugged. “What do you feel like having? I can make pretty much anything.” Standing back up, he started to unbutton his coat. “But first, I’m going to take some of these clothes off. I don’t want to get all sweaty in my suit.”

“Surprise me,” she smiled as she watched him unbutton his coat. “That’s a good idea,” she said licking her lips a little. “Just don’t cook without a shirt on,” she said giving him a smirk. “Because then we might not get to dinner.” Rachel looked at him for a moment before walking into the kitchen and grabbing a cup of water.

He put a hand on the back of her head when she rested it on his chest. “I’m just telling the truth, babe.” Brody followed her to her apartment, happy that he had her back like this. When they got to her place, he looked around and smiled. “It’s not that bad. It’s a lot smaller than the loft, yes, but it’s a pretty good size for one person and a cat.” He saw her cat hiding from him and he walked over, kneeling down so he could put his hand out for her. “Hi, kitty.”

Glancing over at Elphaba she smiled as the cat gave Brody a look that was not pleasant. “Here, give her a treat, she’ll bound to warm up to you that way,” she said going into the cabinet in the kitchen and getting out a cat treat handing it to him. When the cat finally came out of her hiding spot Rachel smiled as she put a hand on Brody’s shoulder. “So what’s for dinner?” she asked raising an eyebrow at him.

Brody shook his hands to try to get some of his excitement out. “I’m sorry. I’m just so happy for you and if I get the male lead, we’ll be the leads of a Broadway show together.” He put his arms around her waist and smiled against her lips. “Yes, I can cook. Do you not remember the amazing turkey we buttered for Thanksgiving back in the day? Or all the meals I had to cook because you were scared of burning the apartment building down?”

A big smile spread across her face at what he said. “That would be amazing,” she smiled looking up at him. “How could I forget that? Hey! You’re right on that note,” she said with a pout as she rested her head on his chest. “You’re mean,” she giggled before looking up at him. “Come on, let’s go,” she said pulling his arm. She laced her hand with his as she made her way back to her apartment. When they arrived she smiled as she took her jacket off and turned around to look at Brody. “I know, it’s really small, but it works for me and Elphie,” she said looking over at the cat who was hiding from Brody.

“Of course you were going to get it. You’re Rachel Berry, you can do anything!” Brody had to kiss her a few more times, so much excitement and happiness flowing through his veins that he didn’t know any other way to release it. “We need to celebrate somehow. A simple walk in the park won’t do. Do you want to go ice skating, maybe? Oh! Or we could go back to your place and I could cook something for us!”

Rachel looked at Brody with wide eyes. Letting out a laugh with how excited he was. “You’re cute when you’re excited,” she laughed wrapping her arms around his neck bringing him into a kiss. “Well I don’t want to break an ankle so dinner at my place sounds good. You can cook?” she asked raising an eyebrow.

“Maybe when I’m forty. I kind of want to look my own age for awhile.” He drank his coffee as he listened to her. When she said that the director called, he stopped them and turned to look at her. Then she said that she got it and the biggest smile showed up on her face. “Rach, that’s awesome! I told you that you would get it!” He leaned down to kiss her before picking her up, spinning her around while trying not to spill their coffee. “I’m so proud of you!”

“Yes, look your own age for now,” she laughed before standing in front of him. Squealing she wrapped her arms around his neck and giggled when he spun her around. “I knew you would be,” she said leaning up to kiss him again. “I didn’t think I would get it and I did!”

“You have no idea. I’m probably going to have grey hairs because of that meeting.” As they started to walk, he reached out for her hand and pulled her in close. “I got it for you at least once a week for almost a year. It’s pretty much drilled into my head.” He kissed the side of her head then smiled down at her. “I don’t want to spend the entire night talking about me. How was your day?” When he was walking up to her earlier, he noticed that she was excited about something. He didn’t know if it was because he was near her or if it was something else, which made him curious about her day. They hadn’t really gotten to talk about it much since he was too busy complaining about his meeting.

“You would look cute with a little salt and pepper in your hair,” she said giving him a wink as she leaned into him when he pulled her close. “Oh, that’s right,” she laughed wrapping an arm around his waist. A smile was still on her face when he mentioned how her day was. “Well it started off alright and before I came here I got a call from the director of the show,” she said looking up at him with a huge smile on her face. “I got the part! I GOT THE PART!” she said jumping up and down.

Brody’s entire day was hectic. He spent a majority of it working on the stupid presentation he needed for his meeting, having to run to the office supplies store at least five times to get stuff for it. His makeshift office, normally his guest bedroom that only got used when his parents came to visit, was a complete mess by the time he got done. At least he had a printer now, something he had been meaning to buy for awhile so he could print sheet music. 

The meeting was less hectic but still crazy. The producer and stage designer both went off on him when he told them that they were on schedule for the set. He had to remind them almost a hundred times that it was a complicated set with a lot of detail, only to be told that his team could work harder. It was three hours of going over the same presentation again and again, yelling for no reason, and threatening to demote him for being a “poor leader”. He was so happy when it was over, job title still intact, and he couldn’t wait to see the only good part of his day.

Rachel really was the only reason he hadn’t lost his sanity. She kept him from smashing his laptop when he was working on the presentation, kept him from snapping on his bosses at that meeting, and gave him something good to look forward to. He was thankful that the coffee shop they used to get coffee at wasn’t packed, not needing another thing to ruin his day. He carried two coffees, his a large peppermint latte and hers a medium soy latte, to the park and smiled when he saw her. “You have no idea how good it is to see you,” he said before leaning down to kiss her. Handing her her coffee, he kissed her one more time. “Hello, girlfriend.”

Rachel had a very easy, yet busy day. She had agreed to teach some dance lessons at the local dance studio. Rachel needed the extra money so why not do something that was relatively in her field. When she arrived home that afternoon she took a nap before she started texting Brody. Things seemed to be going in a direction that she never saw coming, but she was happy. Getting up from her bed she got dressed and fixed her hair. As she did so she heard her phone ring and looked at a number she didn’t recognize. 

She picked up her phone and looked at the time hoping she wouldn’t be late. “Hello?” she asked when she picked up the phone. On the other end was the director of the show she had recently auditioned for. Standing there with her mouth open she thanked the man on the other end before hanging up grabbing her bag and heading to the park to meet Brody. As she stood there she smiled when she saw him walk up. “Rough meeting?” she asked taking the coffee and leaning up to kiss him. “Hello boyfriend,” she giggled. “You remembered my coffee order,” she laughed when she took a sip of her drink.

Brody: Yes, ma'am. I have to go to my meeting anyway.

Rachel: I'll leave the door open. Don't mind Elphaba if she walks up to you when you walk in. ..Just don't pick her up, she might scratch you.

Rachel: Good, now let me go get dressed in something nice since you're wearing a suit. :P
