Long Overdue Update

It’s been a while since I made an update, so I figured I would take a few minutes to share some news. First off, as you might be aware I stopped working on Whispers from the Shadows and began working on a new project. I did this for two reasons. First is that the Legion expac took a totally different direction than I anticipated making the entire second half of Whispers irrelevant. I may return to it once that storyline in WoW is concluded, all depends on what I have been able to accomplish with my other project. Which brings me to the second reason...

As you also may have noticed, about a year ago I started playing with DAZ3D and creating scenes from the books that I couldn’t by using screen grabs from the two games, swtor and WoW. As I made more of these I starting dabbling with characters that I thought might exist in the Firefly universe. I started calling these Intergalactic Bounty Hunters because it just seemed like a quick and easy name for a series of pics that I didn’t think would go anywhere...I was wrong. As I made more of them I started thinking of a completely original story concept for these characters, so I removed them from the Firefly universe and started creating my own for them to have their adventures. That grew and grew until I had a new world/universe with complete backgrounds, history, and plan for a trilogy.

So, I started writing the first book, Intergalactic Bounty Hunters: Edge of Extinction, back in February and shared a few of the conceptual pics here but mostly on my DeviantArt page. I am happy to say that I have completed that book at over 127K words and at present actively seeking an agent/publisher to take it to a broader audience. This was not something I could do with the Jedi in Azeroth books because I didn’t own the IP where those characters lived. IGBH is entirely my own so here’s to hoping I can find and agent/publisher.

I have also began writing the second book, Intergalactic Bounty Hunters: The Hunter’s Gambit, which my new header is a portrait of the protagonists of this second part of the story. IGBH Long Shuttle Ride by RagingCyc0ne

From Intergalactic Bounty Hunters: Edge of Extinction...the chapter I am just beginning to write takes place in Earth's solar system just after the destruction of the largest human population left in the galaxy, Golath Prime. Ivana orders the use of the experimental gravitic drive to escape the attacking Imperial fleet. Using the coordinates set by Galen, the Logan's Pride emerges in orbit around Neptune. A dead stick and with minimal power remaining, the Pride becomes a lifeboat as Ivana, Galen, Maktai, and Kailea board a shuttle to fly the twelve hour journey to the irradiated and lifeless Earth. While Mak and Kai sleep, Galen explains to Ivana the secret hidden on Earth's moon...the SS Endeavor...a prototype vessel built just before the war ten years before. Galen secured the vessel before the Hegemony could locate its existence and hid it in the one place the imperials would never look...the place where the Imperial Hegemony struck first against humanity when they destroyed Earth at the very beginning of the war.

A Clandestine Meeting by RagingCyc0ne

In the background we see his superior, Admiral Vruhag, speaking with his daughter, Druuna, who helps to save half of the CryoGens before Korgath's extinction orders are carried out by the navy. Shura and Vruhag are fugitives after alerting the humans to the impending Imperial attack, both choosing to become ronin and disgrace in order to restore honor to the orc race.

F.I.A.'s Secret is Revealed by RagingCyc0ne

The final part of the upcoming book, Intergalactic Bounty Hunters: The Edge of Extinction, the human race is almost annihilated by the Imperial Hegemony with only a handful left in the entire galaxy. In this scene, the android, F.I.A., reveals her true nature after Ivana's team recovers the device it used to block some of her memory algorithms. F.I.A. holds the key for humanity's survival locked away in her memory core.

Intergalactic Bounty Hunters

   Ivana Petrovich ran through one of the starboard corridors of her scavenged starship, Logan’s Pride. During the war it was designated a different name that was still painted on the hull, I.S.S. Antares. Currently it was parked in low orbit around one of the lifeless moons of the second gas giant of the Caldera system. Should anyone flying by discover the vessel, it would appear as a floating hulk in a decaying orbit just as Ivana planned. Once a soldier ten years ago during the war fighting with other colonists against the tyranny of the Imperial Hegemony located in the core worlds of the galaxy, the thirty-five year old woman now lived on the fringes of civilization working as a mercenary and bounty hunter. With her crew of twelve, they barely survived from one job to the next but that was better than living life under the thumb of the Hegemony. Out here on the outer rim their patrols were scarce and each star system was ruled by some unscrupulous figure or another trying to avoid the ire of the core worlds. Mercs and bounty hunters were always in demand as they fought each other for control of scarce resources left behind after the war.

Scott: She was the planetary governor. Ivana: So? Scott: Well...that goblin fellow, Jixl, the Imperials placed in charge...he was just a figurehead. Kyoko has always been the one in charge. Ivana: She placed the bounty on you? She must be as mad at you as I am that your treasure is now unreachable. Scott: Yeah, about that... Kyoko: I knew your death was faked. You think shaving your head, growing a beard, and changing your name to Scott Daniels would hide you from me, Galen?A wife will always know her husband better than that. Ivana: She's also your wife?! Scott: Um...well...I would say my EX-WIFE.  Putting that bounty on my head was a pretty clear declaration for a divorce.

Celeste VS Celeste by RagingCyc0ne

The two versions of Celeste face off. The one on the left was created by my friend Mave Cosmic about two years ago based on my swtor depictions and written descriptions of Celeste from the A Jedi in Azeroth series. The one on the right is the version I made when I started working with DAZ Studio...and I love them both. In all of my writings I have always had the Celeste character in one form or another in the story, and while the one on the right will remain the AJiA version, the one created by Mave will definitely be her in other stories like Intergalactic Bounty Hunters, the Justicar stories for my Erica character, and the Daniels' Family Adventures I have on the more adult oriented blog I made. Here I decided to place both versions together in one scene...both perfect representations of the character I have used in my writings for over twenty-five years.

From A Jedi in Azeroth: The Past Returns, Part Sixteen: The Light at the End of the Tunnel...Celeste faces Okus on the battlefield...

   Celeste bounded back a few steps after her lightsaber clashed with that of the green skinned demon. He never spoke and she wasn’t sure that he even could, but his mastery of the lightsaber forms surpassed even Master Dorak. She swung her blade before her like a saw as she advanced with each step, and each time he deflected her attack. Ataru, Soresu, Niman, and any form she attempted he countered perfectly. He looked like a sith according to all of the holo images she had seen, but he did not feel natural through the Force. She sidestepped for another round when he countered with a swing to her midsection. The saberstaff tilted in her hands to block his attack, and at the last second he raised the blade slicing through the hilt and destroying the crystal of the lower blade. In shock she leapt back several feet and held the remaining half of her weapon in her right hand.

   “You’re advantage is gone, little one,” the man scoffed at her. “Now you will meet your end.”

   “So you can talk,” she countered as she circled him to her right. “And here I thought you might be a mindless demon like all of the rest.”
