WHY IS RAD FRONTING SO HARD?? (infodump/rant Part1) i think one of my favorite parts about Rad's character will always be about his internalized toxic masculinity and how that affects his development in the show and i really wished this was touched upon more before ok ko got cancelled bc they had something SO GOOD going on to teach a proper lesson to kids about and get proper representation which i don't think we see enough of in media now (at least in the media i actively watch) for example: the first time we meet Rad, he presents himself as some big, macho, and tough meat head who's ego is bigger than his god damn muscles, and when something even the slightest bit "feminine" comes into the conversation with him, he totally blows up with embarrassment and masks it with hyper masculine things that he "should" like

We see this a lot in "You are Rad" when K.O. literally pretends to be Rad for the day, and see's that there's much more to his character than just muscles and video games

K.O. learns that Rad isn't that big of a fan of just sharks and working out, but he also babysits, likes bees, and also helps take care of cats in his free time. these are all things that are generally percieved as "softer" things, less masculine than sharks, etc. i also personally think that when Rad realizes he lost his name tag that he thinks he loses a sense of himself but i think that was generally more of a gag than anything, just a small thing i noticed and headcannoned anyways ts is getting too long ill make a part two eventually ty for listening to my rant 🗣️🔥🔥
