Sure :3
Gah, I'm sorry I've been quiet for a few days. I'm headed into finals week, and I'm sort of going insane. I still am excited about this, and we should pick it up in a couple days. Have you signed up for Babblr? That would be an easier way to communicate, come May 7th.
I could surely write the male roles and you could write the female :3
Cool! How do you want to divide them? Perhaps F: Maid, Witch, Thief
M: Rogue, Page, Prince?
Im meaning like female vs male, like how the trolls did it
Like they think they're competing? That could work? Were you thinking a 50/50 gender split. I tend to write mostly female characters, but I know it's pretty standard for HS adventures to have everything be equal.
Written is fine by me, I cant draw either :3. But I think 6 could be nice, 3 for each side. Prospit could be Rogue of Space, Witch of Void and Maid of Light, and Derse could be Page of Time, Prince of Breath and Thief of Rage. I was thinking it could be like a Male vs. Female thing as to which gender would be stronger :3
Those sound good to me, though I'm a little confused what you mean by the gender thing.
Okay, here is the cast, and if 12 is too much, we could just work on 6 or something. I don't really mind :3 Anyway, classes: Heir of Mind, Seer of Life, Knight of Doom, Thief of Rage, Maid of Light, Prince of Breath, Page of Time, Sylph of Hope, Rogue of Space, Witch of Void, Mage of Blood, Bard of Heart
I think it would be more realistic to bring it down to four or six. My favorites from the ones you listed would be: Thief of Rage, Witch of Void, Maid of Light, and Prince of Breath. Do you have anything in mind for the kind of adventure they'd be on? Also what medium are you thinking? Written? I'm not really an artist.
Oh, im sorry. I meant as in like an entire session, maybe with 12 characters. That would be awesome, :3
That does sound like fun! Do you have any particular conflict or cast of characters in mind? 12 characters is a lot, but if you have something in mind, I'd love to hear it.
I would love to work on an adventure together, and would love to learn more about the classes and aspects
That actually sounds awesome. When you say adventure, what sort do you mean? I would love to have someone to Homestuck with! I just don't really know what you're asking to do.
I'm really pleased by the last couple of upd8s, partially for character development reasons, but also because they fit really well with my theories on how classes and aspects work.
Take Tavros, Page of Breath. According to my theory, pages provide their team/session with the ability to grow as people and follow the better path. Breath also can deal with the movement of subconscious thoughts to the conscious mind. And Tavros was able to voice his subdued criticisms of Vriska and get him and others (Sollux, Feferi, Nepeta, his team) to realize that Vriska was not worth humoring any more and they all got the fuck out of there.
God Tier: Rogue of Heart
A Rogue is one who steals for the benefit of their team. Heart is the aspect pertaining to the soul, self, and identity.
The Rogue is a subtle role that is more complex than it first appears, particularly when paired with the aspect, Heart. Upon first examination, it seems best suited for a supporting role, as the Rogue of Heart can keep their team emotionally healthy by draining off bad or violent aspects of their team's roles. However, this path, while helpful for the team, is often the most damaging to the Rogue of Heart. But before we examine the places for self destruction or actualization in the ascended Rogue of Heart, we should look a little about their journey to their god powers.
Like Thieves, Seers, and several other classes, Rogues have an innate connection with their aspect right from the get go. A Rogue of Heart will fall into this pattern, perhaps by being fascinated by emotions around them, or maybe they will have an unnatural gift for understanding the emotional lives of others. One this is certain though, like every Heart player, the Rogue of Heart will have a fractured sense of self which could manifest in multiple consciousnesses like dreamselves being awake early, or retreat into a made up persona under stress.
Once the Rogue of Heart reaches the God Tiers, they are gifted with the power to see and steal their aspect--in this case, the soul, emotions, identity-- for their teams benefit. In Rogues with a self-sacrificing nature and low self worth, this often means that they drain their team of negative emotions like fear or anger. However, when the Rogue does this, they take on those emotions for themselves. This path often leads to the Rogue of Heart's self destruction because they take on so much fear and pain from their team that they either die of the stress, or if their god powers won't let them die, become catatonic to the point where they are just a vessel for the team's fear and negative emotions to be poured into.
This is not necessarily the fate of a Rogue of Heart though. Another way the Rogue powers may manifest themselves is that the Rogue of Heart will be a Robin Hood-like character, stealing the positives from their enemies and feed that to their teammates by acting as a sort of conduit. This method is much more work and requires a thorough understanding of emotions, but both leads away from the self destruction of the first path and is much more versatile. This kind of Rogue may act as a support player, keeping the emotions and motivations of their team up while also draining those of enemies. This Rogue could also fight more offensively, destroying their enemies sense of self and thereby making them easier to destroy. The Rogue in this manner would be limited, at least until they were very experienced, as dealing with a group or army of opponents would be nearly impossible to do well with the specialized powers of the Rogue of Heart. Nevertheless, the Rogue could be the trump card, the special player kept in reserve for the boss fight--against the lone enemy whose soul is at the mercy of the Rogue of Heart.
Master Post: Aspects
When you have the time could you do Sylph of Void?
Sure!
Pilot: Wake Up
Your head is pounding, and it takes you a moment to realize why.
With a groan, you extract your face from the monster text book you had stayed up late working out of. The sun is up, and shining through the library windows. The day is cold and bright, with golden-leafed trees sparkling with frost. Campus is still, and not a soul is out. You shut the text book and shuffle over the the giant window.
It's a beautiful day, and you feel a terrible sense of loss.
You stare out into the morning, trying to understand where this grief is coming from. All you get is flashes, feelings, a few images. White Roads. Street Lamps. Power. Victory. Loss.
You figure you must have had one powerful dream the night before.
As you pack up your bag, you freeze. A powerful sense of familiarity washes over you as you turn to your computer. In the corner of your browser window, you see an advertisement. It's for a game. It looks interesting. You open it in a new window, then shut your computer. You're going to be late for class. You'll investigate later.
Who knows? It may be fun.
Witch: Rise Up
This is horribly late, chronologically speaking. To those few who have requested short pieces, this is sort of what to expect.
Closing Thoughts
I can't believe sbarg's over ;-; I wish I had been able to participate a little more, but I was very busy.
HOWEVER. Just because the official game is over, doesn't mean I want to leave the great community that has sprung up! I want to get to know more of you, and continue to write up Title descriptions and shorts (those do take a bit longer though).
I really loved imagining myself in a session, particularly with other people doing the same. As much as I love Homestuck canon, putting myself and others in it unleashed so much creative inspiration for me.
Because of all this, I'm still open for Title description requests, and if anyone just wants to be Homestuck buddies with me, send me a message or something. I want Homestuck friends. None of my friends in RL are Homestucks.
Could you do Prince of Time?
Sure, I'll put it in the Queue!
Prince of Hope
For chaoticzen
(A quick note on this one, Iâm not really using Eridan to inform my⊠profile(?) on Prince of Hope. I donât think he was a great example. However, I hope it still manages to apply to him. I believe it does.) A Prince is one who destroys their aspect or destroys with their aspect. Hope is the aspect pertaining to belief and good outcomes.
The Prince of Hope is a difficult Title to understand, mostly because it seems at first that there is little benefit to having a player that is specifically dedicated to destroying hope, their own beliefs, or good outcomes. However, it is important to remember that Princes can also destroy with these concepts. Nevertheless, the Prince of Hope is a challenging role, and the player must have exceptional emotional and mental stability in order to wield this title to itâs fullest potential.
Before they become fully actualized, a Prince will go about their session under the influence of their aspect, but never fully able to control its use. A Princeâs aspect is used offensively, much like a Knightâs, and will power the Prince. In this case, whatever holds the Princeâs belief will be powered up and used to destroy. The Destroyer class is fickle, however, and the destruction a Prince brings about is not always what the Prince wants to be destroyed. In the Prince of Hopeâs case, they may be forced to deal with the destruction of their source of hope. While this may cause some playersâ minds and spirits to break, for those who manage to weather the storm, they will come out of it all the stronger for it. While destruction is difficult to live through, it offers a complete and new beginning and, in a way, is the most intense sort of healing.
The Prince is an odd class among the active classes. Like the others, the Princeâs power revolve around the self, but due to the destructive (and often negative) consequences of the class, the Prince is often much more concerned with matters outside of themselves. This doesnât mean that they are immune to selfishness, but it is not a pitfall of the class as it is with other active classes such as Heirs or Mages. One problem Princes do have to watch out for is letting their emotions get away from them. This is particularly problematic for a Prince of Hope, as Hope is fueled by the subconscious and if a Hope player starts to get down, that negative subconscious energy will manifest, in a Princeâs case, through a destructive force.
If a Prince of Hope does manage to avoid a downward spiral or come through their turmoil in one (sane) piece, they will be one of the more powerful players for it. An actualized Prince of Hope will be able to channel their pure belief into destructive power, which, when direct appropriately, makes them an offensive force to be reckoned with. Used correctly, a Prince of Hope could also channel their power so destroy the Hope of their enemies, though due to the active nature of the Prince class, this is more difficult and takes some creative use of power.
