THAT SUPPORTER GUY!
Gachiakuta Oc sheet [+ LOTS of information about him and a surprise comic in the end!]
Content disclaimer: The following content contains manga spoilers, religious themes, mentioned of self-harm.
To explain briefly why he became a supporter:
He joined the cleaners due to convenitional reasons which is to earned money, he does not have a noble reason to joined the cleaners aside that, plus a good friend of him, Corvus Arkha did invited him to joined the cleaners as he does have a resilience and the strength to be a cleaner, even though supporters doesn't have much glory unlike the cleaners' givers he doesn't mind as long as the pay rolls continue he is contented with the life he had, it's not like he had any much choice since he does needed the money for him to make a living and he does not want to work multiple part time jobs and contract jobs that has little pay and probably wouldn't brought a food on his table.
While doing his design, I have to think how to make him the most basic looking guy (I failed), so I decided to make him faceless instead.
His full name is actually "Azaziel Lualhati y Likha Saiteris Milagro," but he decided to shorten it.
Though lets break down his name:
Azaziel = Azazel, is described in the Jewish legends as a demon or evil spirit, a scapegoat who was sent to bear the sins of the Jewish (Leviticus 16:8-10). However, in the Book of Enoch, Azazel is described as a fallen angel who spreads forbidden knowledge to humanity.
Lualhati = a Filipino name derived from the word Luwalhati means "Glory" or "Splendor"
Likha = his paternal surname means "to create" in Filipino.
y Saiteris = his mother's maiden name based on a blind prophet in Greek mythology named Tiresias, who claimed to have seen what humans are not supposed to see. In Spanish and traditional Filipino culture, the "y" conjunction is used to link both paternal's and maternal surnames.
Milagro = The maiden surname of his grandmother, which means "Miracle"
THE SCAPEGOAT
Surprise, surprise! Azaziel and THE FOOL are the same person! Did this big reveal surprise you? I sure hope so, but if not? That's also good! I did talk about this in my old posts or somewhere.
Every one of Laplace's Angels is based on fallen angels/demons. Which is very intentional on my part. Just like how each of them has their designated deadly sins. In this case, Azaziel is the sin of PRIDE.
Unlike the rest of the founders of Laplace's Angels. His childhood is by far the most normal one; in fact, better or more privileged than the others. This is also why I made his name long, because in the Philippines, prominent families during the Spanish era utilized long names due to the adoption of the traditional Hispanic naming custom. Alas, he has to fall like the rest because of the 'crimes' he did.
VITAL INSTRUMENT: LIGAYA
Meaning: Joy in Filipino
His vital instrument is a handmade porcelain mask; it was originally for a school project. After finding out about the existence of vital instruments, which he had found in scriptures in the library his family owned. He became obsessed with it.
I think it's a great concept to have a vital instrument that is handmade.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
He could do ANYTHING he could think of, as long as he deems it "fun". But wouldn't that make him too OP? Yes, it does make him OP (Every oc I have is OP one way or another). HOWEVER, his mindset will come into play in this; it will be his biggest ally or enemy.
For example, if a fight gets boring from their perspective, the ability slowly drops and becomes useless.
Ligaya is driven by the engagement or entertainment that of Azaziel, which is the main source of its power.
Of course, let's not forget the cons here. The withdrawals in this ability are not physical, but psychological. Using Ligaya in extreme measure could tear Azaziel's mind; the more he uses it or stays activated, the crazier and unhinged he is. It's going to tear his mind into pieces.
RELATIONSHIP
Ligaya is actually a sentient vital instrument; it has a mind of its own (just like Hii), as stated in the series, that vital instruments are tied to the giver's soul, that's why I like to believe the reason that givers don't have a spark is that they give their soul into the object they truly treasured.
I'm applying this same logic with Azaziel and Ligaya; Ligaya is Azaziel's soul. He needed it as much as it needed him. This creates an unhealthy codependent relationship between them. It's his one and only sole purpose of being able to 'feel' something, as it amplifies his emotions or brings out his rawest emotions.
Azaziel is fundamentally detached. He can still feel emotions, but they are more shallow than those of average humans. His attachment to Ligaya is not sentimental, but rather about what it can provide for him. Due to his hyper-fixation and immaculate maintenance, in the universe of gachiakuta, this still could count as "valuing" the object, which led to successfully drawing out its soul.
However, if he did take off the mask when that happens, he just can't; it's like having an addiction to something, that's how Azaziel feels.
He gets into a lot of extreme things when Ligaya is away from him or not on him, as it stabilizes him. He gets super depressed without Ligaya, but he needed to take a break, not wear the mask from time to time. He gets extremely self-destructive or just lifeless in his own living body
Their relationship between giver and jinki is so interesting!
That's why he is so dependent on Ligaya, because he could feel things he had never felt before in his dull life. It is his joy.
ENCOUNTER
If you made it to the end, props for you^^ I think I revealed more than intended... whoops!
