almost every audience at the showings of phm i’ve been to has laughed a bit during the stratt ‘betrayal’/forced sedation scene and it really vexes me. the first time i sat thru it i nearly cried, and on subsequent showings it’s put the worst pit in my stomach & made me feel sick. and people laugh at it? like this is a genuine perplexity of mine - i’m assuming there’s a humor to it that i just don’t get otherwise why do so many audiences respond to it differently lol
