no, not entirely. I got hooked. it never fought me, encouraged and reinforced a lot of my sexual fantasies that I am so deeply ashamed of. I began to avoid actual people, started shoving my face more into my phone. it ruined my mental health, ruined my relationships with people, ruined my creative spark.
not even looking at what using it does to the human brain, but looking at the data centers. They’re taking art and training it, stealing from actual artists. they’re running our already dwindling water supply down, they’re beginning to take actual homes, not to mention the noise pollution and pollution in general. Then we get to the water again. people who have the misfortune of living near one never get silence, don’t get clean water, etc.
I do not care if you are addicted. coming from someone who is in active recovery and relapsed so many times over the years, you need to be accountable for your actions. for your damage. you, as a human, have a social responsibility. you have a responsibility, as horrific as it sounds. it is your job, your responsibility to educate yourself rather than blindly move and believe.
there is no excuse. there is no excuse, and you need to take accountability.

I’m not as strong as I want to be. So many days I’ve spent curled up on my side just staring at the wall across from me. The last few days have been harder. Anxiety so bad that merely talking makes me nauseous, and when I look at my phone, I feel exhausted. I love when people interact with me, but I’m so tired and burnt out.
