Been thinking about playing WoW again...but not as Rael. The character is dead. I would rename him and make a new char. Just undecided...
An Ending
I felt bad with the OC way I left everything, so I have decided to wrap-up the story icly. This doesn't mean I am coming back, it is simply closure that I needed, and I figured others might want too.))
He lay upon the bower formed by the husks of two felled trees, thinking. Raelaryn was alone, as he had been since abruptly leaving Silvermoon many months ago. He knew he had hurt many with his disappearance, but he figured they were better off. Slowly, the names came to him as if in a dream - Rowyn, Valmarian, Rinen, Aislan, Faith, Farrwyn, Sairalis, Senicuss, Lysanthir, Korus, Seiwind, Astrias, Demias, Tyverus, etc. The sparkling lights of the stars above glared down as if they were accusing eyes of those he'd abandoned.
He stood, his ragged robes tearing a bit more. The chill wind off the glaciers to the north blew into the Grizzly Hills, causing Rael to pull the tattered garments closer together. His body felt the cold, he didn't. All he felt was the heat.Â
A muttered spell opened a portal, and Rael strode through it purposefully. He knew where he was going, what was waiting there.Â
Shadowmoon Valley was as desolate and abandoned as ever. The odd felboar, grunting, wandered through the dust blowing from the Hand of Gul'dan. Rael smiled into this view, he was home.Â
A day's walk brought him to the entrance of the temple. Abandoned, supposedly, but he knew better. They were still there. The Illidari. The demons, the ones who cost him everything. They had defined his life since his father had followed the mad Prince into the portal, pulling his three children along. It was time to see an end to it.
Raelaryn walked in purposefully. No demon, no worshiper, stopped him. They followed in his wake, curious as to what the blood elf in his tattered robes, no staff, no weapon, pale with sunken burning eyes wanted. He reached the center chamber, where the commanders of this cell waited.Â
"Runeweaver, I never thought I'd see you here willingly," the middle figure said. "I see you, here, wasted away. Have you finally come to your senses?"
Raelaryn chuckled mirthlessly. "I suppose I have, Ithracis. You say you see me, see what I have become?" Raelaryn shook his head. "I don't think you ever saw me Ithracis. Not now, not when we flew about Nagrand on you wyrvern, laughing, kissing, being together. You never saw, not then, and not when you fell...." Rael trailed off.
"Didn't I? I saw what it would take to break you, to bring you to me, to the true path," the figure identified as Ithracis said smugly. "You're here now, mine, and with you, we'll finally have Shattrath."
Rael looked up then, tilting his head, studying his former lover. "I was right, you never saw me. Even now, all you see is your blind ambition, your naked lusts. But I see you Ithracis. I see you, your Illidari, your plans, your dreams. I see all that, and one other thing."
Ithracis stood and walked over to Rael, towering over the thin figure the formerly proud noble was. "Oh, Raelaryn, you see all that, huh? I think you're deluded. And what's this one other thing? Another lie you tell yourself?"
"No, Ithracis, not a lie. It's the same thing I've always seen," Rael said quietly, as he leaned forward and wrapped his gaunt arms around the larger elf's waist. Ithracis bent down to hear him better as Raelaryn whispered in his ear, "I see...fire."
And then all any one could see was red, orange and white.
I guess I was wrong.
It does look like Rael's story is done after all. I just don't feel like playing WoW anymore and have unsubscribed.Â
OOC Post
Like a number of others, I've hit the pre-expansion doldrums. So I am stepping away from WoW for a bit. This isn't due to any drama, nor any hard feeling, but because WoW started to feel like my job. And those of you who know me, know how much I hate my job. Rael's story is on hold, but is not ending. He and Rowyn will still marry, just later than announced. With House Runeweaver joining Thori Alar, I feel this is a good time to take the desperate break I need. I will be back. I will see you all again. My love and hope for good times to all of you. And, when I return, I hope to see you all again.Â
Big thanks to Pepsiz for being understanding.Â
Till I see you again, May the Eternal Sun Guide You.
Recovered....
Raelaryn woke with a start. Instead of the cavern he had been held in the last two nights, he was in the soft environs of the Hospice. Rowyn was asleep in a chair across from him. His lover looked awful, he hadn't slept since Rael's abduction, or so it seemed. Rael could feel the pains of his injuries, but they were muted by the healing magic and drugs the Hospice workers had poured into him.
Rael was afraid. He knew he was safe, but his powers had failed him for the first time ever. It was a sobering experience. He knew, intellectually, that his powers were limited, but Rael had not experienced such failure since he was a child and lost control of the fireball that caused the harsh burns to his hands - scars he kept covered by gloves to hide his failure. Now, his confidence was shaken. For all his Arcane might, he could not stop what happened. And Rael was afraid...
Rowyn let out a soft noise and moved uneasily in the chair that he slept in. Rael was comforted by his Fiance's presence, the thought of being alone was terrifying. Alone got him caught, got him hurt. The only being he didn't want near him now was an Orc. To hell with all those Fel-tinged monsters. Rael's hatred for the undead had been supplanted, replaced by a new burgeoning hate (and fear) of Orcs. The tortures he underwent....
Rael lay in the bed, silent tears streaming down his face. Things would have to change. He had been so confident, so arrogant. Now, now things would be different. For the first time in over a century, Rael felt vulnerable. He didn't like this feeling...
TAKEN
Raelaryn was walking through the shuddering, shimmering expanse of the Ragefire Cavern. Behind him, two Orc Mages fairly waddled along, muttering in their foul tongue. They didn't realize he spoke Orcish very well, and were insulting his Elven ways. Just as he was considering having them barred from all the Mages' Libraries in Shattrath and Silvermoon, the muttering stopped.
Raelaryn turned to see what was keeping his "colleagues" and saw the female, Tenel Ka, sprouting a blazing arrow from her chest. The male, Scrull, had his neck sliced and was shooting blood out of it in a bright red arc. Rael lifted a hand to start casting at the shrouded assailant when he was accosted from behind. Sharp blow to the back of his head had Rael reeling, and as he fell, he saw more shapes coming at him into the darkness.
Hours later, Rael awoke. He had been stripped, tied to a rock pillar and blind-folded. He could hear orcs and what he thought were goblins and trolls. A presence moved toward him.Â
"Your little boyfriend got you into a deep mess, Elf. And I am gonna enjoy showing you how deep."
And so the torture commenced. Beatings, whippings, stabs in the soft flesh of the hands and feet. Rael was in agony. He thought he should die soon...
From the sketch pages of Rowyn Fireheart! raelaryn and Rowyn in the library at the estate!
raelaryn Rowyn and Raelaryn on the bench in Runeweaver hall. Rowyn is concerned about him right now.
What if.... Rowyn and Raelaryn woke up one day and Rael had no memory of Rowyn? ((Or vice versa? Your choice))
Rowyn was at the hospice all night with Raelaryn. Raelaryn was in a coma for a few days and was expected to wake up but with uncertainty. Rowyn sat in a chair across from Raelaryn he was haunched over shaking as his elbows rested on his knees and his hands were together. His head rested against his fisted hands as his leg shook, he hadn’t slept since the battle they were just in. He was hoping against all odds that Raelaryn would wake up soon. His eyes were red and tear stained. Doctor Azuriann and Kairos had insisted he get some sleep, but he couldn’t, he was too worried even Sparks had came to soothe him but even he couldn’t help him with his worries right now.
He heard Raelaryn start to wake up as his head shot up to look at him. His eyes opened half way to look at Rowyn as he stopped breathing. Rowyn took a deep breath and within a blink of a eye he was right by Raelaryn’s side as he held his hand and kissed Raelaryn. “Hey…” He whispered as tears started to trail down his face again. Raelaryn only stared at him with a blank expression. This confused Rowyn as his eyebrows furrowed. “Raelaryn?” He only looked at Rowyn now with furrowed eyebrows. He spoke in a barely audible voice “Wh-who are you?” Rowyn stopped breathing as panic set in. His breath hitched as he gasped for air. “Raelaryn…Raelaryn it-it’s me. Rowyn.” His lower lip started to tremble as Raelaryn shook his head. “I’m sorry…I don’t know you.” Rowyn let go of his hand. “Hold on Raelaryn.” he opened up the door and yelled out in alarm. “DOCTOR AZURI! DOCTOR KAIROS! RAELARYN IS AWAKE COME QUICK!! HURRY!”

Sparks was in the hospice that day, sitting at his desk, he was busying himself with the topic cream and herbs. He was wearing his doctor robes and jacket, hair tied back. He had received the letter from Lady Vellissana, Rowyn had an appointment today with him to check that eye. She had described...
I'm being kidnapped! On Sunday, so I will be OOC until the event Tuesday.
At Raelaryn and Rowyn's Estate
I’m not having a great day so I made cake…and its one of them days I bake and go to some extremities if I am not really having a fantasmal day…right now I really really have urge to kill….and this happens on a rare day for me…So if I am not happy, Rowyn is not happy. So I am asking to pretty much coax rp friends to come over lol. But I promise not kill or take out on anyone, trying to have some positive to make it better.
Uncertainty
From the Journal of Raelaryn Runeweaver -
People missing, lover's spats, violence in the streets and the rebuff of a sincere advance. My days as of late have been filled with uncertainty, degrees of which have varied. Indeed, the only thing I am certain about is my relationship with Rowyn. He, even when we are fighting, remains a constant in my life - a comfort I can no longer bear to live without. I love him with my whole heart.Â
It is the others that leave me uncertain. I witnessed an attack today, not do to any violent precursor, but because the one woman had slept with the other's man. Such a simple, stupid case. Yet it provoked a violent assault that had to be broken up by guards.Â
Later in the day, I was in Orgrimmar, consulting on the potential damage to the element of fire housed in the Ragefire Chasm, the base of operations for Hellscream's Dark Shaman. The Orcs sent an emissary to Silvermoon to seek someone to aid in analyzing the arcane repercussions of their meddling. I spent most of the afternoon untangling the arcane mess. But a curious thing happened as I left for the day, a young Shu'halo woman approached me to ask if I had seen her husband, a large Bull who had wandered into the Cleft of Shadow and seemingly disappeared. I spent a little time searching, but the male was no where to be found. This is troubling given the issues in Orgrimmar under the reign of Garrosh.Â
My aide, Valmarian, has been more of an enigma. He rebuffs the most sincere advances of friendship, intimacy and caring. I hate feeling rejected. It brings back all the old feelings my father engendered in me. Rowyn soothed my hurt ego, but I can't help but feel discouraged. Perhaps I should give up on Val and keep our relationship purely and coldly professional.
I hope things settle, but I cannot help but feel a certain....foreboding.Â
OOC - So Aislan, my IC sister, is out of town on the 18th so Rowyn and I are moving the date to Oct 25.
Also, these are the wedding bands we chose.
The day has arrived at last! Today at the hour of 5pm Lady Laarah Emberfrost and Lord Nestarion Sunsworn join in wedded bliss. Ceremony to take place at the Grand Pavilion at the top of the Grand Hall on Quel’ Danas Isle ( The inn top and bottom).
