Where do I begin...
Let me start by saying thank you if you’re reading this. It’s not everyday you have people get past the first post and want to continue learning about your life. You’re amazing for that! I want to take a journey back to 2010-ish time frame and tell y’all {from my perspective} how life happened and where my journey began. So, at 20 years young I had 3 jobs working as a hostess at a hotel resturant, part-time at the local Macy’s *rolls eyes*, and I just got my job back at this restaurant I got fired from (mind you-- the new manager was low key trying to find any reason to get rid of the old staff--none the less he ended up fired eventually for stealing money which lead to me getting my job back. HA!). Anywho, I was also a part time student, TRYING to get a business degree, YEAAAAHH..no. That’s not where my passion was. I hated business class. It was way too..ummmmm...serious I guess is a good word. After doing this for a while I was like “Bro there has to be another way to get money and have a life without having the feeling I would be fired at any given moment, or even completing a degree that I really wouldn’t be happy with. After talking to some of my friends they all agreed I should just joined the Air Force (since I did AFJROTC in high school and that’s the choice they made for the same reasons). SO--BOOM I ended up calling the Air Force recruiter and got the process started. I was waiting for about a year because I knew I just wanted a medical contract. That year was sooo tough, I was so impatient because I just wanted to leave already. My recruiter, however, became a big sister to me. Reminding me that things will take time and if I only wanted medical it’s gonna be a minute. 2011 hits and I’m starting to plan a trip to Miami for my 21st birthday in March. My recruiter had other plans though, she called me around the end of February and told me I would be leaving in March and I got a dental contract. I was ecstatic, scared, nervous and pissed all at the same time. (I was only pissed because I had to cancel my trip to Miami lol). Anyway, On 8 March 2011 I left for basic training down in San Antonio, Texas. That’s when my adult life really began. Leaving my Mom, Dad, and boyfriend (soon to be ex after basic training) was one of the hardest things I could’ve done. I did it though, I made my first REAL adult decision to change my life and get the f**k out of Dover Delaware.Â
