you know, vandhi and arunmozhi probably spar all the time cuz they gotta keep their skills sharp or whatever. arunmozhi could practice with any of his lieutenants, and he's extended the same invitation to vandhi but somehow they keep finding their way back to each other in the ring. and it's addicting, the crash of their blades, the tang of their sweat, the way arunmozhi looks at vandhi like he wants to grab on and never let go. theyre so equally matched that the bouts almost always end with them trying to wrestle each other to the ground, weapons long discarded.
and it does things to vandhi, to see the famous ponniyin selvan in such a state. his piercing gaze focused on nothing but vandhi himself. the flex of his shoulders, the sway of his back, the tension in his forearms as he struggles to pin vandhi down. it's so addicting, having the prince of the chola kingdom driven to this point by vandhi alone. and sometimes he thinks arunmozhi likes it too.
A/n : contains mention of suicidal behavior skip you can't handle it.
I - GENERAL
I need to hold him and he need to be held. gently. lovingly. softly.
the trauma is VERY REAL which is obvious to be honest.
a very responsible older brother.
adores his siblings with all his heart would die and kill for them without a question.
used to sometimes purposely loose to arulmozhi when they sparred as kids.
listened to kundhavai talk whatever even if he sometimes lost track of incidents she was narrating.
noticed her liking to vandiyadevan easily.
used to tease arulmozhi about his height and lean body as kids until the puberty hit and his younger brother was suddenly almost if not more bulky and tall as his him.
great swimmer it also calms him down.
loves horse riding too.
while he slept easily as a child as he grew older and stuff happened he started having problems with it.
has constant nightmares of either wars or nandhini.
VERY SUICIDAL someone keep a eye on his man.
was once yelled at by kundhavai because he went in battle without proper armor and almost died.
developed a habit of drinking a lot.
though his emotional intelligence is high. he cannot for his life regulate his emotions he lives in wars as copping methods that should tell you a lot.
he and his father disagree about a LOT.
he used to smile a lot but if eventually lost its spark.
when going to sleep he at least has four knives on him.
TRUST ISSUES.
he used to cook but not anymore.
can't will himself to do much other than wars.
is always brushing off his siblings and eventually vandiyadevan who worries about him.
was aware he won't be coming back alive when he went to kadambur.
his self preservation skills are close to none from the very start.
jumped down a stream that ended in a WATERFALL just to get kundavai her favorite necklace back that fell into water.
would never and I mean NEVER disrespect a woman.
a very kind soul.
winning against him in a sword fight is fucking tough.
Laptops are always so much more Fucked than phones in my experience. A laptop is like a beautiful horse that wants nothing more than to break all of its legs. A decently solid android phone will act normal
A laptop is a living creature. It has weight to it. A laptop breathes and produces body heat. And it wants to die badly. Mobile phones are not sentient like that & that's why they don't experience mental illness. A phone problem is like "out of storage :(" or "charging port broke". Laptops will cough weakly as they fade in and out of consciousness
arulmozhi, vanthiyathevan: the prince and his soldier
i wrote this one based on akane00's ponniyin selvan fic, all is fair in love and war, because i loved it so much that i wrote down a quote from it on my wall when i first read it: "It looks like the kind of smile that artists would want to draw, that writers would want to record in their stories. It looks both like the beginning and the end of the world."

since everyone is trying out contrapuntal poems, I thought I'd try my hand at it, too. this is based on rafe's lcu fic series, broken hearts and smoking guns, which I think is truly amazing and heartbreaking. totally recommend everyone reads it.
your fics are the highlight of my existence more days than not. I don't deserve the commitment you give us, and tbh I don't think this is enough for what you write. that series makes me sad but also speechless because you wove this world and brought me into it and it's so good. like. lokesh, take notes.
