DAY 11 BRANDING #marchmeetthemaker Thank you to @joannehawker for setting this up, I am really quite enjoying the process and the commitment! I find it quite funny because a lot of people refer to me as Raggedy which makes me smile, I do like it. I rebranded my logo a few years and the talented @anthonyoram who had a studio in the @silkmillstudios designed my logo's and added a new R which I now put on most clothes, an ambiguous recognition of my brand which I love. I have had thoughts and discussions recently that I may create another brand Which is my name Hayley Trezise and have my creative work under that umbrella, Of course I would keep Raggedy as my clothing brand ;). I feel it's an ownership of me as an artist so I can freely express all my art under this name. Day 9 HOW ITS MADE #marchmeetthemaker @joannehawker My garments are made with pure love and I can honestly say everything is in that moment, following my intuition. I have always made my garments as one offs without patterns until very recently, where I now also have a range of items put together with help with from the lovely @jennifer.rose.davey and @andrea_franklin! I work in the flow, and whatever comes in comes out of my creative hands. Over the last 15 years I have created a very unique style that has been purely driven from intuition and my heart. I went to art college and did a degree in sculpture and have found that unintentionally my clothes became very sculptural and textural. I have developed a very distinctive style that is very recognisable as a Raggedy, with my signature 'scribblestitch', sculptural shapes, textures and layers. Even though I have particular items I make regularly, like my 'Coatagans' every garment is a unique art piece to me. So if I was to describe how I make, its following where my inner voice, and inner knowing goes. Equally when things are not going right my inner critic steps forward and redirects me or makes it very difficult! So I must listen. Alternatively a mistake can sometimes lead to a new found technique or style, and this is also a good thing to be open about. Everything I do is made with love and the people who work for me I love too. It's so incredibly important to me that my team also work/live from their heart and that is exactly what the universe has delivered to me....a perfect team!
