Too Old To Be Young

I remember when I realized that the celebrities that I was finding attractive were 10 years younger than me instead of 10 years older than me. It was sobering 🤣. But that is to say I find younger actors like Connor and Hudson attractive, but I don't have a "celebrity crush" on them the same way I did when I was younger and crushing on Colin Farrell or Karl Urban. When I got into the Heated Rivalry Fandom, I didn't expect discussions around age to become a part of this Fandoms discourse. Unfortunately thanks to F being unnecessarily trifling, creepy F/C shippers, and Club Chalamet bringing her weird ass over here, we seem to be having conversations about age a lot.

F AKA Raggedy Man: I've shared my thoughts on F many times now, and I usually call him raggedy or raggedy man so if you're curious about my thoughts, look for that hashtag on this page. I'm not going to rehash everything, but I did want to zero in on something I've noticed when discussing F, and my own observation I made about this F/C mess back in January.

First things First, no one is being "ageist" towards F. Back when the F/C rumors started trending, people were saying that people were leaving comments on F's IG calling him a "groomer" and telling him to unalive himself. I blocked F a long time ago, so I can't confirm this. F is not a groomer by any stretch of the imagination, and telling people to unalive themselves is a disgusting thing that happens on the Internet often, even outside of Fandom spaces. I would say the tendency of people to resort to saying this when they don't like a person or disagree with them, speaks to how low we've sunk as a society, but also people enjoy being nasty and cruel behind the anonymity of the Internet. However, finding a 14-year age gap weird is not ageist. I'm the same age as F and I would side-eye anyone I know that is my age, dating someone that much younger. People have different feelings about age gaps when we're talking about two consenting adults. But personally, if the age gap relationship includes one person is in their 20s, I don't like it. Mostly because I think there is an inherent power imbalance because there's so much you haven't experienced yet in your 20s and the partner who is older knows that, and in some circumstances takes advantage of that.

I don't think I or anyone who shares my opinion needs to go to F's IG page and call him out of his name over the implication he could be dating someone younger, but we're allowed to have an opinion and we don't have to coddle this grown man, who has managed to paint himself as the victim at every turn. The irony is he never had to have this problem in the first place. All he had to do in DECEMBER with that DM mess was simply say that DM was insinuating something that wasn't true and to have respect for he and his costars and acknowledge that he was in a relationship when asked. But what did he do? He went on every talk show that would have him whining about "crazy Hudcon shippers" who were being "mean" to him about possibly dating Connor. Boy bye. He could've taken his happy ass back to LA, after he showed his ass by grinning at paparazzi like a fool while his younger costar was clearly upset, and sat there and ate his food. Instead, he has continued to entertain and fuel bullshit, and flat out lies, and that's why people continue to roast him. Making jokes about him being a grandpa is not the worst thing to happen. He'll live.

Lastly, I observed when the F/C mess started to pick up steam back in January, that it was going to make F seem and look older than he was. I still get carded often for buying drinks when I go out to eat, this year I had two different waitresses in a state of shock at me turning 40 soon. Now did that make me feel good; yes 😁. But I know if I were to try and go hang out with a bunch of 20 something young people, I would feel my age and probably look it, in comparison to them. F may think he's hot shit, but every time I would see a picture of him with Connor in Jan./Feb., he looked "old" and also like he was trying to give his best Blue Steel look and be cool standing next to Connor, but it just came off as him trying too hard. Incidentally the movie Zoolander, where the Blue Steel look is from, is about an older model feeling threatened and irrelevant due to the success of a younger model. This was most evident recently when Hudcon did that photoshoot with F at the Madonna Oscar Party. It was painfully obvious that F was the older odd man out to the youthfulness of Hudcon and their relationship.

F/C Shippers: Something my mutuals and others have pointed out about these shippers is that they tend to skew older and have a weird fetish for the idea of F being with Connor who is much younger, using F as their own self-insert. People like these shippers enjoy the power imbalance of age gap relationships and view the younger person as "innocent" and reliant on their older partner. Although there is some irony in this thought process, as they often seem to think F is tagging along to all of Connor's solo events, which would imply in the scenario they've made up F is actually reliant on Connor for relevancy.

Club Chalamet 🤪🙃: I first became aware of Club Chalamet in 2023 when Timothee Chalamet and Kylie Jenner were seen at one of Beyonce's shows during her Renaissance Tour. It was her LA show and lot of celebrities were there and there was video of Kylie and Timothee kissing. Club Chalamet had a meltdown over this, and it went viral. Then people started digging up how much of a stan she was for Timothee and when people found out how old she was, it quickly turned into a discussion about how someone her age should know better and shouldn't behave the way she does. Especially because the object of her obsession was so much younger than her.

Personally, I feel that you're never too old to be a fangirl and participate in Fandom. But CC isn't a fan in the typical sense, she is a stan of certain actors and I believe that CC would behave the way she does even if she was younger. Stans being obsessive and stalkerish has no age limit. Timothee wasn't the first star she obsessed over. Apparently, she was a fan of Michael Fassbender and ran a fan account for him until he got married to the actress Alicia Vikander. Then she switched to Timothee and I think the longer Timothee's relationship with Kylie lasted the angrier she got and she finally jumped ship. Unfortunately for us she decided to jump ship and insert herself in the Heated Rivalry Fandom, or more specifically as a stan of Connor. To be clear CC is not a Heated Rivalry fan and apparently hasn't even watched the show or read the books and likely never will. She also isn't a real fan of Connor either. It's clear she saw how popular Connor is and saw the F/C ship and decided to start a new obsession. I would argue that she feels like she can't be disappointed with this pairing because it's Queer and the person of her obsession, Connor, can't be in a relationship with a woman she hates (this is assuming that Connor is Gay. I believe he is but again he hasn't publicly stated this.), of course it hasn't occurred to her or any other F/C shipper that F is openly Bisexual meaning that he could be in a relationship with a woman in the future like he has in the past. Also, since F is older than Connor, she feels justified in her behavior towards Connor and F definitely works as a self-insert for her.

For me when I think of F and Club Chalamet, I think of two different things. With F I think he suffers from what I call "Michael Landon Syndrome" 🤣If you're too young to know who Michael Landon is, I suggest you google him but depending on your age you know him from several popular TV shows, Bonanza, Little House on the Prairie, or Highway to Heaven. He was notoriously egotistical behind the scenes of his projects. F came into Heated Rivalry being the "name" of the show and it's obvious now that he didn't expect his younger costars to become so successful so quickly, and there is some jealously of their youth and fame. There was no need for his behavior these past few months. Hudcon and F have said they are friends and F could've simply been a mentor and an older friend to help them as they navigated their success. Instead, he tried to insert himself into their fame and popularity and he did it by fueling a lie about he and Connor and being passive aggressive towards Hudson. Just pitiful behavior all around. With Club Chalamet she displays extreme stan behavior and she occasionally gives me Yolanda Saldivar vibes IYKYK. I feel like her behavior has less to do with her age, and more to do with her as a person, because as I mentioned I feel like she would be this way regardless of age.

Ultimately, like I said you're never too old to be a fan of an actor or participate in Fandom. However, your behavior should never veer off into stan/stalker territory which is what has given people the ick about CC. Her being as old as she is, just makes it more embarrassing for her. F could've been a good friend and mentor to people younger and newer to Hollywood. Instead, he chose to try and stay relevant based on the rumor that he was dating someone younger. Then proceeded to get mad when it just made him look creepy and actually ending up drawing attention to his negative behavior and comments around Heated Rivalry in general and Hudson more specifically.

At this rate F and CC are giving Mary from the Thorn Birds. I'm just saying.
