Driftdoor on the mind.....
Happy birthday Raúl🎂
TADS theory.
Jax hit his own family member with car. It's his sister.
Now she paralyzed or disabled and his family hates him for that.
Also it could be Halloween and his sister weared bunny costume. Or she likes bunnies. Or her toy was bunny.
When Zoobles ask him about someone outside the Circus, who waiting him, Jax knows there no one. That's why he doesn't want to return into reality.
"Fuck" is a Human Emotion
So I was tallying the amount of times different characters in Detroit: Become Human say "fuck" (for a gifset concept) (as one does)... and I thought you guys might appreciate seeing the final tally...
First, a word on my methodology:
I only counted characters who (a) have a name and (b) have at least more than one line. Every instance is counted separately so long as it is triggered by a different option. (I.e., if two different options that a player could click both trigger dialogue that includes the same line with the fuck word in it, they are counted separately.) Obviously ambient dialogue or dialogue that happens regardless of a button press is counted. I used this text transcription as my resource. I didn't include cut content.
Now... without further ado... the final tally...
I didn't know I need this but thanks 🙏
Look, I see your ’North should have been playable if Markus dies’ and I get where you’re coming from, truly I do. But…
No.
One of the smartest things that QD did was allow for North to become Leader as an NPC because at end of the day, you need a consequence for getting the main character of this game killed/removed from the story. And I’m mentioned in the past that one of my reasons for thinking this is that the player should have to rely on what they did as Markus before his death/removal to continue onwards, as well as using any additional contributions to the Jericho Revolution plot through Connor or Kara to help influence the story moving forwards. Yes, in the game, that doesn’t really happen, but bear with me for a moment because we’re already talking hypotheticals here, so give me a chance to say what I mean.
What I also think needs to be considered regarding Leader!North is that she’s such a well-established character on her own that it’s no surprise to any of us that she chooses the Revolution each and every time. But if we’d made her playable? You know that having her mandatorily choose the Revolution would be rightfully brought into question, as our player autonomy would not be respected had we not been given the choice. Because what if the player wanted to have North respect Markus’s by-default pacifism following his death? Or that they believed that she’d truly changed and would believe in the same doctrine that he did? Now, I’m not saying that those are things that I believe that North would ever do but in a game that was built around the idea of choice-and-consequence, you would absolutely have to give the player the choice. And that, I think, would take a lot of the wow-factor out of North’s Leadership arc, as it would basically turn her character into a re-spawning of Markus instead of having her presented as a whole other character.
Now, that isn’t to say that I don’t think that changes need to be made to the Leader!North branch, as that part of the game feels (at best) woefully incomplete and (at worst) turns what could be a really cool alternate universe into a cut scene where everyone involved is doomed by a narrative pushing an incredibly simplistic and downright racist/misogynistic/anti-Semitic political agenda. What should have happened is that North was given the possibility to win as an NPC based off of your previous actions as Markus and your current actions within the other POVs. The best way to go about this within the released version of the would be to trigger certain conditions (North fighting the last wave of soldiers/the Machine!Connor fight versus her death/retreat to the store) based upon the rankings of the Jericho Stat, with higher totals resulting in a better chance at her victory. That way, you could have Machine!Connor actually working to shut down North’s victory in their fight as opposed to just having his victory handed to him on a platter. Or, in the case of Deviant!Connor, you could have his win at the Tower mean something beyond setting him up for his doomed podium moment.
Your actions should have consequences in this game - good or bad - and that only works if North is an NPC who’s story beats are triggered by the choices you made as the character who’s storyline she’s taking on. Because otherwise, she would stop being her own character and start being Markus 2.0, and that really defeats the purpose of having her take on the mantel in the aftermath of your failures as Markus.
Ok you right. But why she can't win? She has a dirty bomb.
Which she never canonically uses, ever, throughout all of canon.
It's unfair. North can't even be as evil as the community believes she is.
has anyone asked this
Bob the drag queen misses a lot but when he says Raul Esparza was the best part of SVU, he told no lies. His era of SVU is the only reason it even has the leverage to make it to 27 seasons on mediocre writing.
I have two word for you sweetheart:
Warren Leight.
Man who created Rafael Barba.
It's all fun and games and 'North fucked up the revolution' until you realize that it wasn't easy or fun for her even the slightest.

Everyone is ready to talk about how North is a political extremist but absolutely no one is ready to talk about how Markus is just as much of a political extremist as she is, only that we’ve been conditioned by the game to find his brand of extremism acceptable because it’s been couched by the term ‘pacifist.’
Like… Markus beats two (sometimes three!) men so badly that he renders them unconscious and then hijacks the building they work at to broadcast his manifesto to the entire country. He organizes a massive city-wide theft of his political opponents’ main means of making money and then transforms the space around those stores into a massive artistic protest of his people’s enslavement. Markus convinces people to walk into gunfire knowing that they were absolutely going to die— not just once but twice! He will put his people at risk of death to uphold his ideals. His main method of getting his point across is the mass-martyrdom, to the point where he has reduced Jericho’s population to twelve by the end of the game if you go purely pacifist.
“~Oh, but North wants us to kill people all the time and Markus doesn’t!~” Markus might not pull the trigger himself, but he gets thousands of people killed by the end of a pacifist run. Just because he’s soaked in more blue than red doesn’t mean that the blood isn’t blood.
I mean… Guys, there’s a reason why Markus is immediately able to meet and sometimes even surpass North’s extremism if he switches tactics and goes violent. They are the only ones operating on each other’s level. They literally match each other’s freak.
