you know in season one when they had that commercial that claimed nolan had a "ruthless take no prisoners leadership style" at nolcorp i was like yeah right. bc he's so consistently soft and thoughtful, even to an excessive degree. but throughout the seasons they've shown that nolan really is ruthless specifically when it comes to business even if he isn't in general life. like his reluctance to hire a cfo and let anyone else take the reigns in s2 until he vetted padma personally and his insistence on getting 70% of the profit of javier's idea in s3 bc he's taking on all the financial risk. it's an interesting counterpoint to the fact that he didn't even have the heart to ruin the marriage of the woman who ruined his relationship with his father because she expressed some mild degree of remorse that she cheated on her husband and the fact he immediately felt guilty when he met the man whose property he bought up for his mansion and tried to cancel the sale. he's such an interesting character...
